  1. Scope has been shimmed and re bore sighted. Hoping to get up next weekend to get it re sighted.
  2. As a Bills fan it seems sort of a betrayal that you would visit the home of the Steelers after week 1 of the NFL this season. Maybe it was those masks that allowed them to win.
  3. It looks like this site has some in stock and will ship to NY. Shipping isn't bad as long as they don't drop the extra fee for hazmat into the mix. https://www.bigcountrysportinggoods.com/blackhorn-480-209-muzzleloading-black-powder-substitute-10-oz-state-480/
  4. Sorry about the car damage. At least your wife wasn't hurt by those pesky street walking does.
  5. I saw the notice when I got my tags at the Ravena town clerk. I thought about it for a minute and passed. I think they did this last season as well, but didn't advertise it as much. If they would allow us to fish it I might do a somersault though. I'd even be willing to pay a reasonable amount to be able to fish it. Good luck over there, hoping you fill a tag or two.
  6. Is this the girl and guy that have been on the news? Sorry, I don't really watch much live TV anymore because the news breaks make me want vomit with the politics, but I did see something about this I think while trying to watch the weather a few days ago. Didn't she have some sort of meltdown on a police body cam? The BF didn't seem to stressed she was missing of I recall. Just trying to figure out if I have the right story or not.
  7. I was out this morning and did some renovations on my brush blinds. A little late but the place is public land and gets pressure from people daily so I'm not overly concerned about getting it done this late. I think I may head back over tomorrow and make one of them just a bit more secure with some wooden dowels. I have nothing done on the NZ private land I hunt. Between squeezing things in when the weather was good, choirs around home, and camping I just ran out of time.
  8. Ad blockers work, and I'm pretty sure they have them for phones and other browsing devices.
  9. In the past week and a half I have been to Essex, Warren, Saratoga, Green, Schenectady, and Albany counties. A week ago Essex and Warren were just barely starting to change. Saratoga on Sunday was still green. Schenectady still green. Green still green. Here at home in Albany over the past couple days a slight change, leaves are dropping but turning on the ground. Thatcher was still pretty green this morning.
  10. Congrats on the BC goat! Good luck with the bear if you go after one.
  11. I don't see the badges for most political rubbish or YouTube spamming. Will they be added at a later date?
  12. The past two years I was camping the weekend of the 12th up north. Last year both nights dipped into the 30's.
  13. Thank you @sbuff. I think I'll go ahead and try the shim and see what happens. I'm dead center but low. I don't ever remember having a scope maxed like this before. 2-3" low would be fine for a lot of people, but using a scope I would prefer to be center bullseye or maybe an inch high at 75. I'd have to say this was one of the longest sight in sessions I have done. 4 shots clean and cool, 4 shots clean and cool. I just took my time until the sun really warmed everything up and the barrel wasn't cooling down at all. I would have tried something in the field if the temps hadn't went up. It was fun I can say that. I noticed the rifle would not cock if the breach plug was even a tiny bit not all the way in. After the first cleaning the hammer would not cock, I gave it a little thought and figured it must have been the plug. I took it out and then put it back in and it was fine. The scope made it a bit odd to seat it right, pretty small area to work in with the scope and the small area with the action open. I should have bought one of these years ago.
  14. Thank you for the tip. I thought about just shimming the rear scope ring. I might give it a shot and see if that works.
  15. Went up to get 'er sighted in this morning. At 75 still 3" low with the scope maxed. Time for new mounts or just hunt with the open sights for this season.
  16. Hope you heal up fast. Things like this are a reminder that bad things can and will happen, so we should take proper precautions to at least try and stay as safe as possible.
  17. Ya know, if you were standing under the branch where the leaves are you might blend in more. Is that a new age crossbow you're holding in that pic?
  18. Dude! You're one of, if not the, most closed minded person I have ever seen type anything on any forum. People have rebutted you with facts, but you don't want to hear it. Totalitarian can have more then one meaning. It's not hate. C'mon man! He tosses around just as many hatred posts and insulting posts as those he claims oppose him. It's his over-saturation of shoving his way of thinking down peoples throats and saying it's the only way, yet he cries for everyone to have freedom. It's also funny he takes these hiatuses for years and when he gets a chance to do nothing but spew politics instead of hunting topics he comes out of the woodwork. Hunting topics don't get him posting, but spewing his agenda sure does. I very sincerely think he's one of the over zealous political people that was ether banned or left, but didn't really leave. When a hole gets plugged and another leak spouts, it's the same source forcing the issue.
  19. I hear some of that fish that comes through the NYC port is called bangcock surprise, and covid is the least of anyone's worries when it comes to vaccination.
  20. I've been seeing the little monsters. Put two in the pan this season so far, a couple others had some bot fly issues and I didn't eat them. If I have a firearm they seem scarce..... But.......... If I'm out there with just a knife and my folding saw working on cutting downed branches and logs to tidy up brush blinds they are all over the place.
  21. So instead of SENY invading WNY, WNY is slowly staging a takeover. I blame all those GTG's.
  22. I'm putting $2 on you. No Wegmans out this way or in SENY that I know of, so you have home turf advantage. Don't drop the ball here, $2 can buy a pack of 10 masks.
  23. The one thing I have been wondering since this started hitting NY again last year is how many farm animals this is killing. It's transmitted by midges to hoofed animals, that means horses, goats, pigs, deer, cows etc. . The white tail deer seems to be getting hit hard, but I don't seem to be able to find any cases of farm animals getting it. No news on farmers finding any dead animals from EHD. Are cows, pigs, and horses immune in NY?
  24. Bottom line, if you wanna wear the orange do so, if not then don't. I'll be waiting for those who don't that actually manage to get a ticket to come on and pitch a fit because they got a fine. That's how this sort of thing usually pans out. I'm going to go buy a few more orange hats and maybe wear one everyday. Ya'll have a wonderful day now, yahear.
