I picked up a small camo chair with a carrying strap from Gander Mountain for 25 buck, carries well has a storage pocket, and Very Comfortable. I tilt back againt a tree and brush in. I only use a ground blind if it looks like rain. -

I hunt with a nice Ruger 44 cal carbine, semi auto light weight, bought it used from a family friend. I also picked up a gently used remington semi auto 30-06 nice to have a couple of options. Look for a good gun shop and you'll be suprised at the used guns out there.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Lost 1/2 the season 2 years ago with a herniated disc in my back, just glad it didnt happen when I was alone in the woods. Check DEC web site for the suffolk shot gun muzzle loading season in January. Hope you feel better.

4 wheel drive works well to bypass at times. I have also heard that it might be state employees playing games about being under staffed.

enjoy and congrats on extending your season! I picked mine up last year and enjoy it a lot. I hace a Traditions and it came with a very nice DVD that helped me get started.

I made a game cart/ tree stand cart out of a garbage picked 3 wheeled jogging stroller. I will try to post some pictures, worked great hauling the stand, still waiting to test it on game.

Traditions, Cabela's package $200 bucks to my door step. opens up the season a few more days and actually kind of enjoyable. I use Jim Shockey's 50 grain sticks (2 of the) 100 grains. so far so good,

I checked with DEC and as long it was not permamently secured a tree stand can be used.

glad to hear that I'm not totally off base. second season out after a 20 year break in huntiung and the TV shows focus on food plots and land set ups not really seen here in the east. Don't have much time with full & part time jobs, wife and 3 kids. So a lot of my hunting is scouting and hunting in 1 or 2 day trips.
