Well, about 20 minutes ago I heard grunts in the thicket beside me, I grunted back and continued to hear grunts. Finally I snort wheezed, out he came, from the worst possible spot for my stand. Behind and below. I drew when he got to 25 yds, but I felt the bottom of my cam touch the climber so I waited until he walked another 10 yds and glanced down and I thought it would clear. Well, at release, I knew immediately it didn't clear. Loud bang and the arrow went right under him. He ran 30 yds and stopped and looked around, then continued up the hill. Beautiful 8 or 9pt. Clean arrow. Man, what a dismal outcome for an awesome 3 days. I'm moving down into the swamp now, as that's where most of the action seems consistent... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I had the most insane day, and never released an arrow. Passed the big 6 PT at 9:30, then heard 2 hellacious buck fights. Then the party moved up across the Rd into the thicket I'm hunting on the side of, followed by 30 minutes of crashing, grunting etc. I saw at least 5 bucks in there. Then nothing until 5:30 when I heard what I can only describe as a growl (which I heard repeatedly during the previous fights). Then 4 does came across the Rd right up to me. The 2 fawns we're playing like crazy, chasing each other all over the place. They ended up under my tree and as I could barely make out their silhouettes I heard a buck coming in, grunting the entire time, he came to 15 yds but I couldn't identify how big. He ended up chasing them into the bean field. I snuck down and got down to the Rd only to hear a buck making the same loud gargly growling noises just below the bank from me. I'm not gonna lie, I got really nervous. I envisioned being mailed by a rut crazed buck in the middle of the road. I basically jogged to my truck to avoid him. I have never in my life combined, heard the vocalizations I did today in one day. I've never heard a buck growl but can only assume it's what I heard. The best way to describe the sound was a grizzly bear huffing and grunting. Insane day. I'm still shook up over the action. I'll be back tomorrow for another dark to dark. Today's recap, I saw 6 different bucks between 9:30 and noon, 2 shooter 8's, one was running around me like a madman and couldn't get him stopped, I even yelled at him and he didn't care. Then had another good 8 sneak in behind me and before I could get a shot off he went into the thicket. Awesome day. Hoping for a bloody arrow in the next 3 days! I've officially seen about 18 bucks from the stand so far this season but today being the first two good ones, acting dumb. Good things are happening! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I'm hanging out as long as I can! I didn't come with intentions of staying all day. No food, one water bottle, if I sit the rest of the day I'll see nothing more, if I leave my cell cam will have a giant on it an hour after I bail... What was a slow morning just was chaos. A doe came running up to me mouth wide open. Then I heard grunting and blowing behind her, 3 bucks came running in, ran circles around me chasing each other. 2 8 points and a 3 pt, couldn't get them to stop for anything! Things were looking up a few days ago on our cams too then went dead. But this seems to happen right before things break loose, at least on our lease the last few years. Not real sure why? Last week I had multiple daylight 3+ yr olds, now nothing on 5 cell cams day or night. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
