  1. I'm having issues with messages. If I open them through my phone notification when I first get it I can read it and reply. When I close the message it disappears and can't find it anywhere again. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  2. Used to do them more often, now not so much, everyone kind of hunts when they can now. The neighbors on our lease do them constantly, that's the only way they hunt. If done properly and shots are only taken when they should be they're great. Too many times they aren't though. The Mennonites drove the piece right beside me on Thanksgiving morning this year. They shot 14 times and brought out one deer. They pushed 4 does to me which I shot one at 10 yds and let the rest go. There was 12-15 guys in a +/- 15 acre piece, shooting slugs all over the place, and came out with one deer. If that's not the definition of bad shooting and unsafe I'm not sure what is. I can't believe someone in their party hasn't been shot yet. Not to mention they hit and lose A LOT of deer, I know because I've spoken to them and they have no qualms telling you. 3. This thread is ridiculous. So we have people that will drive after drinking but then act like hunting and drinking is a death sentence. I will guarantee that some of you that swear that having a drink while hunting is deadly, will drive drunk in the next month. Again, neither place is perfect, but come on... I guess everyone online is a perfect role model... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  4. The only time I will take that shoulder shot is when you don't want to risk the deer running anywhere. Examples for me are heavy rain, guys hunting near you, heavy snow, on the edge of a nasty swamp etc... No need to ruin a significant portion of meat to save yourself a 50 yd blood trail in most cases. Some people seem to pride themselves on "dropping deer" which to some must elude to being a better shot? I don't know. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  5. I just sent her a text, hopefully she gets it in time. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  6. Definitely a big old doe to me. She's got that protruding brisket that the big does get. Body is way to big for a button buck. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

    Neck Shots

Ok I see you're twisting it into a math equation now to backtrack... No I am not educated at all. I have zero math skills and don't read real good. But if what I'm reckoning yer a sayin is, butthole=good, neck = bad/disrespectful? Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

    Neck Shots

Pump the brakes. So a neck shot is disrespectful to the animal, but shooting them up the ass isn't? I'm confused yet again by you. Do you just make up things that sound good in the moment and forget about the other things you brag about that completely contradict yourself? Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  11. I'm certainly not in the "planned murder" thought category. I just think some of you are naive to the fact that there are alot of hunters out there that are extremely careless and ignorant. The numbers would probably astound you. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

Having been on both sides of this I can certainly add some insight. I hunted public land for 16 years and did quite well, but not on great bucks. I killed a few respectable bucks in the 105-115" range on public. There were a few on camera that were really good but few and far in-between. Now for the last 3 years we've had a lease on some really good farmland. I now see multiple bucks over 110" every year, even multiple in the same sit. The guys who consistently kill big bucks have mostly the same thing in common, great property. It doesn't take an extremely skillful hunter to get big bucks on occasion if they are plentiful. I killed a bigger buck in my first archery season on the lease than I had ever seen in the woods on public in 16+ years. My standards increase/decrease with the deer present. If I ever lose out on the lease and go back to public, my standards will be lower for sure. It really can be short sighted to base others opportunities off of your own. Having hunted public for most of my career, I can't imagine going back to strictly public. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk

I wouldn't be surprised by anything with my doe. It's a bow only zone so that helps a lot. But her size didn't ring any bells as to being old. One of her hoofs continue to grow, it was like 5-6" long. She also had a large calcium type mass on her front leg. I think she dressed at like 105, but that's no 1.5 yr old... I've used Deerage before, it's nice having a more definitive answer to age. I put little faith in tooth wear as it's very circumstancial. I still need to send in the teeth to an ancient doe I killed that was most certainly on the downhill. Her teeth were incredibly worn and she was even missing a few. 15. I've never understood how this happens either. Clearly he took time to aim at the "deer". In all of that time you didn't see it wasn't a deer? I can't imagine living through that. And to think a simple orange hat could've saved his life. The shooter should have his license revoked for life, not that I think he'd ever make that mistake twice... Sad. 16. I like both, but my vote is white. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  17. Well I decided to fill my last 8f doe tag today. I let a bunch go at 10 yds yesterday. I hadn't seen anything up until about 10:30 but I saw the Mennonites heading in to drive the property that butts up to ours. They ended up pushing 4 does right to me (10 yds). If they hadn't have ran in so quick and stopped I'd have used my pistol but the rifle was already in hand so... The 25WSSM made quick work of her with another heart shot. Dressed at 105lbs. The Mennonites shot 14 times on that drive (they shoot anything/everything). I stayed in the stand awhile longer as the 3 other does were standing behind me and I didn't want to push them back over near the drive. Looking solely for a good buck the rest of the season now. 18. Ruined another heart! Dang it! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  19. No, I could've easily but it was chaos, the Mennonites we're pushing the neighbors property and had deer running all over the place. Didn't dare set my rifle down in case I saw a big buck. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  20. Quite a bit of shooting this morning. Buddy had a big buck cut behind him at 25 yds but he couldn't get around the tree to shoot. Nothing for me yet, probably give it til 11:30-12. I brought the 357 today just in case a big doe wants to stand at 10 yds way too long, like yesterday. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  21. I really wanted that coyote but didn't want to burn my spot to the does. They owe me a buck now... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  22. Had a gorgeous strawberry blonde coyote at 45 yds in my cross hairs but 5 deer at 20 yds and don't want to blow them out of here. Luckiest deer and coyote right now. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  23. They're back at 10 yds now Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  24. Just had 5 come through, 2 does, 3 fawns. No buck in tow. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
