Oh, I saw it. That was a first class douche bag comment from you. Enjoy your day. -
Alright gents, peace out. Good luck this season, all!

The real reason is whether you think Biden and blue wave will win in the election in next few weeks. If Biden wins, I don't see the fossil fuel growth w/o a major rebound in the pandemic and consumption patterns. You'd have to expect with a Blue wave across the legislature and white house, there will be actions to re-engage in the Paris Accord, orders to reach X goal by Y that is made up of renewable energy - IE All electric cars by 2032, etc. Most all of those companies are MNCs but there will be alot of headwinds with a blue wave... The smart fossil fuel company is the one that is divesting into renewables IMO. Sort of like what Unilever did with responsible sustaining coffee/tea, etc.

In all seriousness, give it up already. I wasn't going to post it at all anyhow except that Moog leaked it (unintentionally) and people figured it out and wouldn't stop posting random shit in unrelated threads. I don't write any longer, I work long hours, and hunting is what I do to unwind. If you're insinuating there is funny business going on, I invited another long-standing and known forum member on the recovery, who happens to live in the same town as our hunting ground and we had a fun celebratory night. It was an important tag being filled for me post-surgery and "getting back on the horse" so to speak. You do you, and stop worrying about other people. But seriously give it up. Move on. I'm tired of you being a creeper. -
Nah, I'm done posting pics of dead deer here. I wouldn't have posted this buck if it hadn't been leaked/directed at me with all of the Qs in random threads asking me to post my buck. I begrudgingly relented and regretted it because I couldn't participate in this forum w/o a response totally unrelated to the thread/post.. Our ground is in the same town as another long-standing/known member here, so I invited him out for the recovery, which was really only a bow shot distance away from the field edge. Thankfully me, him, and my hunting partner were able to drag and lift him into the UTV and over to the truck bed. We were able to get some better shots later that evening, too, after a celebratory steak dinner at the local restaurant. It was a good night, I'm very proud of that buck and the one I took last year. Went in with a plan and shot a specific mature buck last day of regular season while awaiting back surgery for my blown out disc, and this year, couldn't do much until mid-Sept. for shooting post-surgery, and I got a nearly perfect shot off on a mature buck that we purposely went in to kill that evening. One that I almost killed two nights prior doing the same pattern on a stand we hung midday. Going to enjoy some doe patrol this weekend and hopefully have my hunting partner connect on a buck. That is my focus now. I'd like to shoot a doe but I admittedly don't like to shoot them on weeknights. Too much work. Hopefully this weekend I get an encounter and I can test out another Havoc. Wasn't super impressed with the penetration using it on that buck. Wondering if that is an anomaly or typical. First deer I've shot not using the Grim Reapers or Slick Trick in 10 years or so. I'm done talking about the buck though. That is for sure.

I'll take odd. And I'll take my punched tag with it. It's a freaking buck dead on his back in a UTV bed. What'd you think he was going to look like? Skinny Tyra Banks? -

Others here might say he's been dead for a week looking like that. We believe he is 5, have images of him last year as what appears to be a 4. No less than 4, but likely 5 or older IMO. -

Hunting partner and I were almost in for a long bow season - he just wouldn't clear to a shooting lane in time. Drop off and pick up courtesy to the stand for him by me since it's an active farm as noted. Covered up in deer evidence A. Time is off because I hooked up a bad cam to the network, but had to bail him out of the field stand. They'll be back as they have been, but deer behaviors are changing quick. Lots of vocalizations last evening - grunts, bleats, and snort wheezes. Just another one of our bloated deer...- 8220 replies

I have four networks now. Each of my networks have 3-6 cams. Each network is on properties of 25 to 75 acres.

That place looks hard to hunt from the air. Good luck. I'll be walking in at 5 - later than ideal but field edge stands. Plus I'm the guy who gets the truck to bail out my hunting partner who invariably will be covered up in deer from his stand this evening, lol. -

Not for nothing but the EVII pattern for Sitka seems to be working very well even in early season with heavy leaf cover. I wish it was offered in less expensive clothing (early season clothing doesn't need to be $$$ IMO) but I pretty much own every piece up to the incinerator line now as a result. Last year I hunted in cheaper RT camo patterns early season, this year I'm using the equinox line so far and it just seems to work very well. Still love predator camo patterns but their workmanship literally falls apart (zippers, stitching, seams, etc.). -
It'll take alot of intestinal fortitude to pass him in NY. He is and could continue to be a special buck should he survive the season.

Rattling can work but as noted seems more successful with better ratios. It’s a super common practice as is decoying in Ohio. I have tons of sparring activity on cam for past two months even in velvet. They tend to be gentle in velvet. -
I don't load but I get on paper with the basic Remington and Federals and then dial in with the Barnes. The Barnes on the shelf option is killer.

I grew up hunting public in VA and seen some real mean spirited people and some that are good sportsmen. Broken windows in trucks, all the way to people helping track a shot that you don't know and being invited on a dog push with the game warden. Mixed bag like public land. Some public can be better than private, that is for sure. I haven't hunted public for deer in several years now but that is mostly driven by time. It takes mountains moved for me to get off work early and I'm at the point where I'll spend to have private access locked up to ensure I don't have a disruption when I do get out (certainly still happens from time to time). If I had more time or more convenient public access I might still take a stab here and there. Something to be said for being successful on public. It's not easy.

I am a fan of the Grim Reaper mechanicals and Slick Trick Standards. They've been on the front end of my arrows for a long time now. Every once in a while I'll test a new BH but nothing so far tops them IMO.

People should be in criminal justice in this forum. Straight detectives, they are.

This fucking forum. I give up.

Surgery went well but after two of them before I'm 40, it'll never be what it was. Working smarter not harder is now the name of the game for me. I was only cleared to start shooting mid Sept. Of course, I didn't think about it and picked up the bow and started slinging arrows and my normal draw weight and have a left shoulder issue now - probably from not doing much with it all summer and then over-exerting. Getting older is no fun, sometimes!
-
To be fair, I wasn't planning on posting my kill however, it was clear that someone else posted that I killed and the incessant questions haven't stopped. So, in every other year, the harvest thread is NO COMMENTS, and this year, it's a free for all. I regret posting already. Can't take it back. I killed a (relatively speaking) big deer, and people have in the following posts said bloated, did you find it a few days later, got better pics...I was raised when someone posts a kill you say congrats and move on. Harvest bashing and questioning is bad form IMO.
-
That photo was less than 30 minutes from the shot - went 60-80 yards - shot hit the pocket behind the left front shoulder with a G5 Havoc. Maybe congrats and move on? Pretty much the reason why I don't like posting kills here.

Didn't feel like air or gas we were lifting into the bed.
