  1. Not politically motived here but in general, my understanding is that there are 32M vaccines in the US, with 12M administered so far (or thereabouts). So 1/3ish across the US. This is a problem - the logistics and rollout is poorly planned IMO republican and democrat partisanship aside. In leadership, problems develop when everyone owns the problem or nobody owns the problem. Someone needs to step up to the podium and start pointing fingers with directives that are based off of a team/consensus approach. It's not because enough people don't want it. My wife is scheduled for March 23...two months out.
  2. Lamar and Allen were due to the wind conditions. Any ball that went in the air...kicking, punting, throwing, was screwy. Wouldn't put any weight on that at all.
  3. I'll consider a 32% pick up in like three business days a boom. LOL.
  4. Plus in early days like this there are likely opportunities for merger and acquisition plays.
  5. APHA getting some action in. I think they are viewed as being one of the better run cannabis companies and matching up with Tillray on this merger might be powerful. The industry as a whole getting a lift from the blue wave. I'm starting to look at the middlemen in the process of that industry, too. Some of those middlemen make $. Just like the goldrush, the suppliers of equipment/clothing, etc. made alot of the $.
  6. Also, one tip to help speed you up this time of year is using old rims that may be around - sounds crazy but old tractor tires, car rims, etc. seem to be in some of the most random places in woods, creeks, etc. Lift up the rim, set a 1.5cs and place your bait/lure around. Once triggered on your typical rim, the coon cannot pull the trap through the hub area. I have had good luck doing that and saving time and dryland coon will find it, even if its in a hedge row off of a woodlot....lol.
  7. Good places listed. If you're not in fear of incidentals a basic 1 or 1.5 cs Duke will land you alot of coon. Similar thoughts about staking as we've just used wire to anchor them around a tree, log, heck even large rocks at times. Coon are tough critters but they're not going to pull out at anything other than the trap itself or do some chewing. I haven't looked at DP prices in a while but they're usually more $ whereas a half dozen or dozen duke 1 or 1.5 cs will be somewhat affordable. I try not to get to fancy with coon as it really ends up being more about numbers than set quality IMO (within reason) which is very different than canines. If you're in a place with non-target opportunity, then DP are applicable. Check out Night Owl lures - NY guy and makes good stuff.
  8. So weird, I just got into APHA today unrelated. I'm still somewhat mixed based on their limited US exposure, which is mainly CBD. Plus the whole merger deal with Tilray. This one was a pure roll of the dice for me. Also got into Tesla for a small amount on emotional trading...but more or less just $ to see what happens. For dividends play, I also got into Norfolk Southern. Similar to travel, I expect rail to be a solid bet for the time being as the economy seems to be faring OK with the pandemic and logistics/transport like NS will grow as consumers spend more as the pandemic winds down. I think there will be an appetite. I'm OK holding this for a while, too, to see what happens. It has alot of upside with the dividend and current payout rates. I'm also looking into banks. Not sure why because they've bit me in the azz every time I've taken a position. Sucker.
  9. Cameras are one tool in the collective tool belt. If you always try to use a screwdriver when you need a hammer, it's going to be a pretty shoddy build. That said, purposefully not bringing a screwdriver to a build-site gets you to the same problem. I like to screw and bang when I need to. So my answer is also no.
  10. I don't put a ton of stock in new bucks at this time of year. I've only ever once seen a buck (that I can remember) showing up the first time this time of year and being around in season the following year. And that buck I ended up finding some night late season (but still open) images from the prior year anyhow. Food drives alot of things, but here is to hoping a shift or disruption causes a permanent change!!!!
  11. They'll be fine. The whole team after the Indy win knew they didn't play great and none of them were happy. It keeps them hungry. I loved the post-game Allen interview. You could tell he was just ready to yell expletives because he was still so pissed off at a less than perfect showing. Reporter: How's it feel to get the first playoff win in 25 years. Allen: It's good for the people but we have work to do. Allen in his head - !%@^#$*#)(*%$()#*#*(p^&(*#&$^#*&^$#*(&$()*#&
  12. It'll be between 12-24 months until the market gets less backlogged assuming all things remain the same - this is from a few manufacturers including the heavyweights and being told to dealers.
  13. Championship teams find ways to win even when it has to be ugly. Chiefs have won ugly, Pats have won ugly, hell nearly every team that has hoisted the Lombardi has won ugly at some point. Even the 72 Dolphins had an ugly game or two in there.
  14. I know several people in here have participated but I’ll be doing squares again for the SB. They’re run on FB but not everyone has that. If you want to participate let me know as they fill fast and it’s just more or less to have fun. The square have trail camera focus but every once in a while I mix in a hunting related item. Sitka, cam accessories, Binos, RFs, etc. The normal squares are what most people are familiar with but then we also do 10 spot and 20 spot blocks. This is year four of it and last year we did 69 trail cameras and around another 10 or so items related to hunting. I’m building out the list now for prizes and will open the squares after the conference championships. The two 100 square blocks I did last year closed out in 45 minutes. Message me if you want more info.
  15. Thankfully I'm not heavily invested in stocks outside of my Roth IRA and work 401K. Investing in my business has had the biggest returns the past year or two, but I'm at a point now where I'm going to start with dividend-focused investments for long-term outlook.
  16. That's too much work honestly. It's not cheap, it's hard work, and whether it has a positive ROI depends on the unique person/company/situation. I have a business that I often partner with on my personal business, and the show circuit for them is where the money is made because the product is much easier sold in person due to it's size (it's a box blind company) and they write big orders. My business the ROI is much more difficult as people buy online as much or more and not hard to ship.
  17. physical shows like that won't happen on the regular for a while. It's forcing the industry to innovate. I have received a ton of info from companies as part of their ATA and SHOT "replacement" efforts. I enjoyed going to the Harrisburg show as a consumer. It's usually a fun guys trip. I've worked a handful of shows both in the hunting industry and in my "career" space. Alot of work actually. About the only thing good working them is usually you get to go blow off steam in a fun location. I've done shows in New Orleans, Indy, Chicago, LV, etc. I probably would have never went to NO on my own, but ended up having a blast there for a few nights. Work hard play hard kind of thing.

I picked up a 4Runner ORP at the end of 2019...has a rock crawl feature that works well off road and you can speed up or slow down by dial. I thought it was gimmicky, but it actually works well when off road to control throttle when you reach break over point and handles descent over jagged terrain. First time I've seen a gimmick like that work well IMO. I got super nervous to basically just hold the wheel and let the truck do everything else. It works though!
  19. Pay off the outstanding loan and take the rest and use that as your down payment. $7K minus the $4.5K gives you $2.5K to put down. Ball park of that and a $300/mo payment gets you a $16K vehicle unless you stretch out the payments longer. I wouldn't do that on a newer vehicle. $15-16K will get you a decent vehicle but it'll be hard to find all that you look for in that price range. Unfortunately you need a mid-size SUV for that tow weight. I had great luck with the prior generation Escapes and they can be had for a good price and be super reliable as long as you avoid any that have the rot issue along the rear suspension areas. I had two of them and abused them to no end w/almost 400K miles between them and next to no major repairs until the end. That won't work as I think they have a 2k tow limit. Tough spot for sure. *Edit - run down to Simmons Rockwell. They are fantastic with used car pricing. If I ever buy another used vehicle via a dealer it will be from them. Had multiple positive experiences over 3-4 purchases there. If they have a vehicle you like at one of their lots farther away, have them bring it to their bath or hornell spots and you can deal with them there. I think the last two I bought there were brought over to their Ford place in Hornell and we saved time rather than driving further.
  20. I guess - that's too hardcore for me. I'm not at the level to break out the loin cloth and sinew. I'd rather take the $250 box and put it together in about 35 minutes start to finish, lol.
  21. Those amish sheds are nice but they do require upkeep to prevent rot and moisture issues unless you get into rot-resistant options and price goes up. I have a 10x16 gambrel amish shed and I have been less than impressed with it's aging. The roof got another layer, and the door areas are rotting around the frame. It sits on a gravel pad and the concrete foundation blocks. It's ten years old and we've had this house since '17. I'd be hesitant to get another without improved materials.
  22. Sounds crazy but you can go cheap and with a little work, get started. Garage in a box. We used it as a base camp for our out of state trip and it was perfect. Open floor, similar to alot of wall texts and cheaper. It withstood not one but two massive windstorms. We added ground anchors and ratchets, but in large it worked well. Way better than any tent set-up (short of an actual wall tent). You can set up a floor off the ground with pallets and rubber mats, etc. We had an electric hook up and ran one of those little fireplace heaters and also had a propane space heater to warm things up in the AM or evening and then the electric heater did fine. I wouldn't have a concern with rigging up a stove, with some ingenuity. Will it be your long-term solution? Probably not, but heck, you could cost justify buying a new one every year and be money ahead. I think we spent $250 all in on LED lights, the garage, the tie downs and ratchets, etc. That is cheap...
  23. Cam temp gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Wouldn't go by them ever, in any brand. Useless feature.
  24. You sound like fun at parties. JK. Fame/Money....there's some of it to be had for killing a big buck or a pattern of them. Otherwise we wouldn't be talking about scores or who killed them. While they're "designed" to give credit to the animal, a name is attached to them that sent it. Hunting is a multi-billion dollar industry, so to say no fame (or money) in it to be had just seems weird. Not that it is people's intent very often, but by golly, it happens. People get famous for getting smacked with a can of Twisted Tea these days (if you know, you know). So getting famous for shooting a big buck seems almost sensible at that comparison.
  25. Lifetime licenses go into New York State's Fish and Game Trust Fund and cannot be touched - the interest off of the account is to be moved to CFAB annually for spending on fish and wildlife by law. They are dedicated funds as a result. I don't recall the specifics but there was a big "to-do" because Cuomo found a way via the Comptroller to mess with either the interest or the investment of the fund itself to pay for things that were not really fish and wildlife related.
