What are they going to do with all the leftover food and dope if nobody shows up ?
-
Do you think most folks start right out on those hard drugs ? I think it's more likely that they try dope first. I cant speak from experience on any of it, but it seems to me that legalizing dope may increase the abuse of more dangerous drugs. It sounds like it is a done deal here in NY, so I guess we will see. It is a lot easier to stop an invasion on a beach than it is after the interior is penetrated. The dope is the beach.

What’s the best place to sell a used truck ?

Certainly not the favorite boat brand thread in the fishing section here. -
I can relate to that a little bit from some issues I had with my 17 footer back in 1999 when I bought a new motor for it. It was always just a little underpowered with the 60 hp 2 stroke Johnson that it came with when I bought it new in 1989. I used it a ton the first 10 years, and wore out the lower unit the week prior to opening day of bass season in 1999. The marina claimed to be way backed up and said they could not even look at it for about a month. They did have a new 70 hp Johnson on the rack, and claimed they could have that mounted for me that day, for around $6500 cash. I went for that deal, thinking I would be all set up for opening weekend. The new 2-stroke 70 hp Johnson has plenty of power, and ran perfectly the first few times out. After that, an intermittent problem developed where it would suddenly loose power when operating at high rms. The problem was not too frequent but just enough to be very annoying. One day I was fishing a pike tournament on the lake where I bought the boat when it started acting up. I had a feeling the problem was the motors power pack, but it wasn't until I took the head mechanic out while it was acting up, that he agreed. Apparently those power packs were good for a range of motors, and they were not willing to use one that they had on the shelf for a warranty claim unless they were certain it was needed. I haven't used the boat all that much over the last 20 years, but it has not required any service since it got that new power pack. Even the fuel filter is original. My old 60 never trolled right after I replaced the fuel filter so I decided to never change another one of those unless the motor wouldn't run. The 70 has always trolled very well. One of the keys to keeping those outboards running well is to always pay the extra 50 cents per gallon for ethanol free gas. That stuff couldn't be found back when I had the 60 hp.

Just 1 of my 4 in March was more than 50 % full, and that was the only one where I had someone in my row's middle seat. It does suck when they are full. Hopefully, it will be a very long time until I need to get on another plane. I opted for business select seats and had an A1, and (3) A2 boarding positions, so that part wasn't bad. I got a nice pic of Lake Havisu on my way into Cali:

I just stretch my complimentary glass of water and snack thru the whole flight. SW stewardesses dont make you wear masks when you are eating and drinking. Just take smaller sips of water, or more time between bites of snack mix.

I see it more as a "stupid" thing than an "agenda" thing. I will define stupidity as a lack of understanding of science. As far as the face masks go, I wear them only in places where they are mandated and I only draw breath thru them (nose covered), when someone specifically asks me to. I only do that to avoid confrontation with stupid folks. That was the only thing that sucked (pun intended) about some recent "essential" air travel that I had to do. Every 5 minutes or so, an announcement came on to "wear your mask over your "mouth and nose". I dutifully complied, because there was no arguing with those stupid loudspeakers. Anyone should be able to understand, using science, how inhibiting the drawing of breath thru a mask is physically bad for you. The real issue is not "agenda", but rather it is "stupidity". Fewer and fewer have any real grasp of science these days. For example, many believe that new life begins at birth, not at conception. In recent history, there have been seven inflection points, resulting from a technological breakthrough, where the average stupidity of the people has increased sharply. These breakthroughs all reduced the brain usage required to entertain oneself. The first was the photograph, the second was silent films, the third was the radio, the fourth was talking films, the fifth was television, the sixth was personal computers, and the last was the smart phone. It is really scary how quickly folks are losing thier ability to think rationally, applying science, since that last one hit. Another area where this stupidity is on full display is gun control. There are many who believe that gun violence can be eliminated by banning guns. It is really hard for me to believe that people can be that stupid.

After you get your soil ph right, it is pretty easy to get most of the fertilizer that you need for free, thru crop rotation. I rotate 3-4 years white clover, followed by 1 year of corn. Most of the fertilizer that I apply is about 50 pounds per acre of granular triple 15 starter fertilizer, in the late spring, with the corn planter. I usually put in a couple small brassica plots each late summer, where I broadcast any leftover fertilizer I have at much higher rate. Those are tiny plots though, so they dont take much. I dont use any fertilizer on early fall plots planted with a wheat/soybean/white clover mix. I also minimize the gly, only applying it directly on the corn rows, when it is about 2 ft tall. I take out the weeds between the rows, at the same time, with a cultivator. Planting about 4 acres of corn a year, I can get about 2 years out of a 2.5 gallon jug of gly. Most of the nitrogen needed, for a modest corn yield of about 100 bu/acre, comes for free from 3-4 years of clover fixation. The real kicker is, "modest yield", slightly weedy corn is far more attractive to deer than "clean" high yield stuff. This picture shows some of that 100 bu/acre corn in back, and a little plot of brassicas in front of it. The tractor is workimg up some buckwheat (used as a cover crop) with a drag, getting the ground ready for wheat/soybean/clover mix.

I just ordered new fiber optic sights for my old Traditions "fox river 50". It is a light-weight "carbine", hawken-style sidelock . I have not hunted with it in about 20 years (hopefully it will still fire). I still have a couple tins of #11 caps, and plenty of loose powder. It always shot best with 75 grains of pyrodex. If I can get it shooting good, I will carry it along with my fly rod, on mid-day hunts. I will be then be fully equipped for bucks, does, and brook trout during the early ML week this fall, up in the Adirondacks. My T/C omega, scoped in-line is way too heavy for that service. I won't even feel the little carbine, slung on my shoulder, as I am fishing the deep holes. The little sidelock will definitely be in my hands as I am walking upstream between fishing hot-spots. The deer seem to love those creek bottoms. I have yet to catch a trout on a fly rod or kill a deer with a sidelock. I would happily settle for either one this fall, but both would be great. I did behead one gray squirell with it. It failed to fire the only time I pulled its trigger on a deer. That unicorn buck just looked and laughed at me, in a tree directly above, when only the cap went off. I had a hang-fire on the squirrel, but I continued to aim, long enough for the charge to go off. No such luck doing that with the buck however. I had to use 3 more caps to get that charge out, and by that time the buck had long disappeared After those mishaps, I started priming the channel behind the nipple with loose powder. That seemed to end the misfire/hangfire issues. I bought my inline and never used it again.

Looking For Serious Backcountry Hunters...

Your pics are not showing on my phone. Here are pics of a spike camp and my primary lodging, up where I hunt, on the NW corner of the park: -
My parents, who are both in their 80's, had the Modernas and both had no side effects from their first or second shot.

1 ) This thread is all bs that should be a second page story (at most) in a second rate newspaper. Certainly not on a "hunting" forum main section. 2) I hope and pray that Fast Eddie comes back soon. 3) What works good for me is a 3-4 year white clover, 1 year corn rotation. To make that work, at least 3/4 of your plot average needs to be clover.

Thanks for the honest reply. Not too surprising to me, since you hail from the country that didn't seem to care too much about certain types of born folks back in the 1930's and 40's. I am certainly thankfull that Trump was able to seat 3 anti-abortion Supreme court Justices in his 4 years. Maybe the end of this evil practice is closer than you think. Does it piss you off that Obama only got to seat 2 Supreme court justices in his 8 years? Hopefully, old Joe don't get any. It was a good thing old RBG kicked just in the nick of time.

Upstates 2021 Foodplots

I like the old "drag" style disks that don't have wheels and hydraulic cylinders (so long as they dont need to be transported on the road). -
Which vaccine did you get, and were the side effects worse from the first or second shot ? I had only the first (Phizer), with no side effects whatsoever. They were also very efficient at the Walgeens, across the road from Jerry F's old Mobile station, on County and Transit. I got there 15 minutes before my appointment and was out at about the time my shot was scheduled (short ride home and I felt ok so I skipped the 15 minute post-shot wait). I was home for dinner 5 minutes after my scheduled shot time. I hope the same nurses are there when I go back for the second shot in May. They were spectacular.

Maybe that explains the current southern border crisis.

Try zucchini and summer squash.
