How is this not sick

The biggest obstacle preventing Biden from winning the Presidency is his turning his back on his Christian faith, as displayed by his VP pick. She is widely regarded as the most pro abortion member of Congres, supporting even those in late term. The reason that misscalculation is holding him back, is that roughly 3/4 of US voters identify as Christian. When you add those of the Jewish faith, the numbers look even worse for him. Each of those Faith's share the "thou shall not kill" commandment. Both faiths teach that new life begins at conception, which can also be simply shown scientifically (half of the DNA in a 2 cell embryo is from the father and the other half from the mother, making him/her "new"). This country was founded on Judeo Christian principles. Are you also opposed to "In God we trust" on our currency ? -

It sounds like versatile likes her. Speaking of talented women, Trump's new Supreme court justice seems to be very good. I especially like her strong Christian values, which should help out immensely with overturning Roe vs Wade. It is hard to imagine a better pick and it is totally awesome that there is not a damn thing that the misguided atheist Democrats can do to stop it. -
Hopefully, they find a way to keep going. Guns and ammo seems to be quite a lucrative business to be in at present anyhow. It seems like they were starting to get their act together at the Remlin factory, but I dont think that one is in NY. The fit and finish on the 336BL, that I picked up a couple years ago, was nearly equal to that on my old Marlin 336. I have had a couple of NY-made 870 pump shotguns and they never gave me a problem. I shot trap for many years with one. I slightly prefer my Ithaca 37 (smoother and also made in NY) for deer hunting, but I do like to be able to look into the open chamber, like I can with the Remington. My stockpile of 16 gauge sluggers is getting low, but I always got a little better performance from Winchester or Breneke foster slugs, so I won't miss their ammo so much if they stop making it.

When I bought my new tractor, about 15 years ago, they offered a heavy or a light duty bucket. I took the heavy duty one, which cost a couple hundred more. It has a row of 9/16" thru holes, spaced about 6", across the front cutting edge. I have made several attachments, using scrap steel that I had laying around, that bolt to those holes. I also drilled a few additional smaller holes, thru the bottom of the bucket, further back. The easiest attachment to make, and the one I use the most (they are on the tractor now in fact), was a set of forks. They are made from a couple lengths of 4" x 1/4" angle iron, about 4 ft long. I use them most often for loading logs on a trailer, but also for moving large beams and pallets. They also work good for moving big piles is brush. I made some wood fork extensions, that bolt on the short steel forks, for lifting the heavy 8 ft fiberglass cap on and off my pickup truck. With some additional ballast on the back of the tractor (Bush hog, etc), I have used those fork extensions to move a big box blind around. Other bolt-on bucket attachments, that I have made include a trailer hitch (handy for pushing the boat in and out of the barn), and a tree spade / ditcher. That is made from a length of 12" x 4" x 1/4" steel c-channel. It bolts onto the bottom center of the bucket and works great for moving trees, popping out small stumps, and digging narrow ditches for drain tile, conduit. etc.. Basically, it does much of what could be accomplished with a backhoe with the advantages of easier attachment/removal and zero cost.

What is not to like about a balanced budget, like Pence pulled off most years while he was governor.? Do you think Biden made a good pick for his VP ? Why did he not get a bounce in the polls after the dnc? In my opinion, that was mostly due to his horrible pick for VP. With that move, he blew any chance he might have had at winning the election. -

I think chef will return to his senses shortly after the start of the debate. Biden's only shot at getting that vote would be if it gets sent in before that. -
Wouldn't the bucks lose more weight in areas with less does, because they have to fight with other bucks for them ? If there was an unlimited supply of food (such as a big field of standing corn) thru December, and 6 doe for every buck, might it be possible for a buck to be heavier on December 22 than on October 25 ?

I don't think it will be close. Very few will cast their vote for Biden, after they get a glimpse of his performance in a live debate. I expect him to carry California and that may be it. At this point, NY is a toss up. Many have fled the city since the Pandemic, as that former Democratic stronghold continues to crumble, along with many other Democratic controlled urban areas. The folks just dont want that nightmare for the rest of the country. The polls may show Biden in a lead now, before he has taken any tough questions , but we all learned in 2016 what they are good for. I expect Biden will move quietly into an assisted living center next year where he will be able to get the help he needs. Trump is good for 4 more years in the Whitehouse, and then things will get even better with 8 more years of Pence. -
That is why I plan on spending the whole early ML week up in my NW Adirondack hot spot. There are at least 6 antlerless per every antlered one up there. Unless you are a disabled veteran, you can't get a doe permit up there, but at least I can legally take a doe, on our side route 3, with my ML.

I am looking forward to this trip next weekend. The long range weather forecast looks good, showing a cooldown. That should spur the bears into some heavy feeding, to fatten up for their long winter nap. I am going to get the camper on the truck today, and make sure the heater works (it has been 8 years since I fired that up). I am also going to get the freezer in our basement thawed out, to make to for the bear meat, and more venison. I will be heading back up to the dacks again a couple weeks later for the last day of crossbow, all of early ML, and opening weekend of gun season. I will only have 2 mornings to hunt next weekend. My plan is to scout out some nearby spots and attempt to lure a hungry bear to my position, using a favorite beverage, that I always enjoy while hunting on cold days. It has brought several deer in, which I was able to kill, and I suspect that it may also be attractive to hungry bears. This time next week, I should be sitting comfortably in my "bear map" camping chair, 30/30 on my lap, sipping on hot cider from a thermos, while upwind of a hot-spot. Hopefully, the plan will come together. It looks like I will have around 20 folks available to help drag out the carcass if it does.

One way you can judge a President's or a candidates mental health is to look at who they pick as their VP. There was a time, long ago, when the dems did ok at that. I was ok with Truman. Since then, they have seriously digressed, finally reaching the point of picking one based on their sex and skin color. One of the biggest reasons I will vote for Trump is because of Pence. Pence was one of the most successful Governers of all time and has well demonstrated the "executive" ability. He has always demonstrated strong conservative values. Look at how Pence handled his state's budget while he was governor. That is where this great country's future lies. If you prefer socialism, I suggest packing your suitcase and shuffling off to one of those places that have already tried that failed experiment. -

At least you will still have your guns which you could always use to unscrew yourself if you polish up your skills a bit. -
Our younger daughter just made me a s'more. It was the best one of the season, cooked just right. She went back in the house to work on homework, the campfire is dying down, and I just finished my last Genny light. Almost time to break out the hose and put it out real good. It is quite dry for this time of year, and I don't want our town to end up like California.

On average, are bears tougher for the dogs to find than deer ?
-
If it had 3 or more points on a side during the first half of the seasons, I would kill it on first sight if I had a good shot. Less than 3 points on a side, and I would let somebody else worry about cleansing the genetics. My only concern is the meat.

Our 4 liberal downstaters have a little bit different understanding of that it seems. -
Well at least your south Florida ppint indicates that you believe the date of maximum buck weight might be property specific. I do find it interesting that you dont think it is effected by buck to doe ratio however.

You best fill out your mail in ballot now while you are in the left state of mind.

Did you ever kill any up there when hunting as a kid, and look at the stomach contents ? Most of the bucks I have killed in WNY were early rut, but the few late rut (thanksgiving weekend) ones had basically empty stomachs even though there was plenty of food in the area. In stark contrast were my 2014 and 2016 Adirondack bucks both of which had full stomachs. This leads me to believe, like moog says, peak weight may be property specific. What dmu do you hunt currently and what day would you estimate that bucks reach their peak weight there ?

Do you think that Obama will be pissed that he only got to seat 2 supreme court justices in 8 years after Trump seats 3 in 4 ? -

I don't think Joe remembers how she treated him during the primaries. That is really not his fault. -
It would be interesting to see what happens behind the high fences. I would guess that if FSW chimes in, he would say his bucks are heavier on December 22 than they are on October 25, similar to what I see in the free range ones up in wmu 6c. Give them plenty of food, freedom from competition, and they keep packing on the pounds. The only years that dont happen in 6c are those when they get heavy, early snows. Climate change has curtailed that for quite a while now.

I am hoping things get straightened out at the DMV this winter so that I can get the 12 ft rowboat that I picked up this summer registered. Then it won't be such a rush to get the bigger boat out in the spring. I keep my little outboards down in the basement and they are ready to go year round.
