  1. I don't know what your talking about a vagina is a great handwarmer in pinch...anyone who skied in high school and college knows what I mean. Married with children haven't been single in over 20 years..dammit just went from defending myself to depressing myself.
  2. I get the feeling some of you guys are talking about vaginas!?! I like a handwarmer and see no difference between that and a pocket but... Biz you better start atleast attempting to draw on does even if you won't shoot them just to get ready for the big one...and seriously you are not a Ninja with a bow over 28" ATA made by devout Christians.
  3. Golf outing is over, clubs are away until after bow opener...time to focus! 17 yard confidence builder STCw/BH through some junk:
  4. I think especially in archery the hunter is constantly trying to relive the moment in order to glean that one clue that's going to result in a recovery. I feel like people are posting thier recovery problems in order to "put it down in writing" so they can even review the story themselves in a more removed way. I don't think anyone is trying to brag about unrecovered animals or even fishing for sympathy. I do think it is wise to wait to post in celebration until after recovery. That said it's probably also wise to post immediately after a marginal shot and wait in your stand for good tracking/backout advice that could really help in recovery. Tracking is an essential component of archery hunting nearly every harvest.
  5. I am not a fan of lighted nocks myself but I also have been trying to think of nanotracking coated arrow...and I may buy atleast 1 of these bluetooth units...damn arrow hollars for ya!
  6. 27 yard STC: Not my Best but this is why I went to single bevel broadheads on 520grain arrows 200 up front:
  7. PM STC w/BH 29 yards slight quarter to:
  8. PM STC w/BH 27 yards: Gonna need to patch this target tomorrow with some spray foam: Three day golf outing at the end of the week then I'll put the clubs down a couple months:
  9. My best group today 20 yards all field points but the BH's are flying true as well (26yds in the deer):
  10. STC w/BH 26 yards hard quarter-to, first STC with pin 2: Put the boat on the trailer today, that's prolly it for boating 2017:
  11. Received and installed my 2 piece quiver from tree limb today...love it. My bow now weighs about 4.75 lbs STC w/BH 19 yards from my gator roof:
  12. This is my opinion and preferred method as well especially with light flat trajectory arrows around 300 FPS. However it is certainly not the preferred method among archery hunters or target archers for that matter. Most prefer at least 3 pins for the reason moog listed. Ive used a single vertical pin for many years with great success but with my heavy arrow settup this season, I went to a 3 vertical pin. None of the fixed single pin sights are even on the market anymore unless I'm mistaken. Offtopic, but Biz ninjas ambush from elevated positions, often even from trees!
  13. 22 yards w/broad head...need a better follow thru:
  14. You never had to draw before biz...you may cheat and scoot up a tree after a getting busted by doe groups or a wise buck. Bottle if it is handy but I'll let fly from 20 up and I have brought in deer that way as well.
  15. Thanks. I love Easton but they sure did make it tough on me with a .320 and .390 as my choices. I am ideally right in the middle of that deflection with a 27" arrow at 64lbs and 200 grains up front. Very hard to tell the difference (between arrows and user error for margins) even with the broad head. I guess the good news is that if I'm desperate I got 6 extra arrows.
  16. Finally worked out my spine choice today after some paper and BH tuning...going with the .320 rather than the .390. They both shoot and paper tuned well but the stiffer arrow was better. Wrecked my 3D target in a session of BH shooting....I'll be taping and injecting with spray foam tomorrow before things get out of hand. Got blisters pulling arrows from it today. Anyway went out for an STC this evening 16 yards thru junk...first one with the Strickland Helix up front:
  17. I have sets way deep and sets 30yds from the parking lot. The quick access stands are typically ladders or hangons I can get to silently via logging trails and get up quickly. They are covered so heavy on the edges of thickets or tucked into hemlocks that hunters pass them without knowing all season. Deep sets typically circumvent bedding to get to travel corridors. I typically take logging roads until they intersect with everflowing drainage creeks which I then use as "stairs" to reach my stands which are typically anywhere from 100-500 yards upstream less than 30 yards off the stream. I can make a 2 mile long near silent entry in almost any conditions this way if I've prepped the trails. And the noise I might make the last 100-500yards is always covered by creek babble, which is also great noise cover in the stand.
  18. Sons at school daughter is napping so I took a STC through some junk at 16 yards:
  19. Jack of all trades master of none by nature but fatherhood has focused me into four seasons: Summer Golf, Fall Whitetail Hunt, Winter Ski, Spring Fish. Looking forward to using my 2 yr old Lowe 17.5 FS a lot more in the summer as my kids get a bit older. It pretty much sits on lift all summer so far.
  20. I use my Gator for trailer shuffling, landscaping/tree and yard work and I use my 40yr old frame to kill and drag deer. The long uphill drag is one of the most bitter/sweet parts of hunting for me. I love it cause I can always hear my grandfather in my head telling me to "take a break PJ" every 10 yards. I gladly recover said grandfathers deer whenever I'm around, but I would also have no problem with the older guys or anyone for that matter using 4x's.
  21. Skipped archery practice this morning to take my best shot to date to his first day of Kindergarten:
  22. Took advantage of another wet and cool evening to hang another set. Good amount of apples this year in my area.
  23. 19 yards from the roof of my Gator: Bows hanging in the tree 28" ATA:
