    SEMPER FI Headed to a buddies later, our platoon from our iraq deployment gets together every year for the Birthday. 1st time im making it. Shootin alot of guns and just catching up.

    Wow, first time hunting since the time change...screwed that up. Then getvto my stand and the prussik knot is frozen on.my lifeline. So 5 minutes thawing that out. Great morning though, nothin sneekin up on my today. Hopin my bil finally sticks one.

    I plan on hunting them hard after deer season. If anyone wants fur just let me know. The one i shot the other day was with 150gr 308. Quarting towards me, bullet entered just inside the front of the shoulder blade in the chest, and exited at the last rib opposite side. I couldnt believe the 308 didnt flatten him, he ran 60 yards before piling up.

    I tried antler ice this year. I had doe in heat, and regular doe with vanilla. I did 2 separate drags. The day i shot my buck he walked right over the drag line and was going to keep goin till i grunted at him. Every year i say i wont waste my money on this crap and yet i still do. I will say a dripper filled with wildlife reasearch golden scrape has done very well for me this year. Have lots of pics of bucks and does checking out the scrape.

    Well i guess i screwed up for this contest...deers at the processor and the heads at my budfies for a euro mount. Ill take picks with the sign and tape measure when i get the head later this week...

    Luck was on my side. Just got back from dropping my deers head off at my buddies for a euro mount. Look in my field and its full of turkeys. Grab my shotgun and cut along the inside of the field in my woods. They saw me and start running out of the field into the woods. I sprinted up and this was the ladt bird to cross.

    Thank you, now some needed rest. Feelin pretty crappy. To many days in 40* rain lol.
