I'm not even going into a point by point rebuttal of all of these leftist talking points because it's obvious his mind is closed and his emotions rule his brain. Because you can’t find anyone else’s words to copy as a rebuttal? Closed mind? Do you ever watch anything other than Fox News or troll right wing sites?
-
Yep, I’m stupid! to think I could have a rational discussion with irrational people. Especially ones who have to use other people’s quotes to speak their mind. Hope this never happens to any kids, wives, or parents you know. have 3 vets guarding every building. Then you will complain about paying extra taxes.

Nobody is asking you to give up your guns. Everyone of us on this site own guns, for hunting and home protection. No one is coming to your house to take away your second amendment rights. If I could save your kids’ life, I’d give all of them up. I’m not willing to sacrifice my kids’ lives because all Republicans can offer are thoughts and prayers. All I’m saying is that hardline republicans are making lots of excuses and deflecting blame instead of acknowledging that its time to be rational. Laws save lives. Rubio and all the other spineless greedy bastards go home and cry into their $8,000 bitch blanket because rational humane thought is being skewed by the millions of puppet money. Yes video games and movies contribute, so let’s fix that too. I’ll give up my PS3 and stop playing Call of Duty too if they come to the table and get off their knees for more than just prayers

Really? What do they teach in private schools? Now you’re blaming teachers? Parents who watch Fox News all day and are expanding their children’s minds and providng them unbiased info? I thought parents were responsible for helping to develop intellect, teach discipline and respect as well, but often teachers have to fill those roles because parents aren’t fulfilling their responsibilities...

Are you serious? I think it might have been the fact that 17 friends and teachers were just murdered... All of you that aren’t willing to compromise and be realistic that some common sense legislation needs to be passed would change your tune when your son, daughter, niece, nephew, etc were murdered. Turn schools into guarded prisons? Ok, great but then you are going to bitch about paying more in taxes. So that won’t happen either. All you conservatives don’t support universal health care... so drop the mental health excuse. It’s the person not the gun? Take the tool away, you can’t do the work. Remington 870, handguns are next? Please. 8-15 shots maybe in a minute isn’t enough for you guys? Time for some shooting lessons... oh yeah that isn’t required to purchase any gun... 45 shots per minute, bump stocks The founding fathers didn’t have these in mind when they wrote the second amendment. If we had them running the government today instead of the corrupt, money hungry puppets of the NRA, they’d take action as they had to Back then. So instead of crying fake news and blaming leftists, victims and making excuses, what are you actually willing to give up besides the lives of babies? You don’t want legislation, taxes, healthcare, laws... Propose some solutions. Be rational. Stop solely watching Fox News.

I shoot the HHA 5519. If I were to buy it again, I would go with the .10 fiber optic. the .19 is too big for everything past 40 yds for me... If brightness is a concern, just turn on the light. I was considering the new Apex Gear Covert Pro or the Tru Glo version. Only a few dollars more... Didn't take the plunge because I'm not sure if I want to rely on a illuminated sight, and might be buying a new bow. Check those out too. No pin in the way at all, just a dot. Single pin is the way to go. Pin confusion is too much to worry about. You'll get used to ranging and adjusting the pin.

C & B Archery in Hicksville. Nice range, decent selection, knowledgeable techs. They don't nickel and dime you for every little repair or adjustment.

Are you sure about the Horton Storm RDX being legal? The website says it is 15.5 axle to axle uncocked... I would have bought it on sale this week but didn't because I thought it had to be 17 end to end...

Anyone have Rage Hypodermics exit a deer in strange directions?
-
I have one as well. If I bought another one, I would switch to the smaller diameter pin, .10 instead of .19. Otherwise, it is fantastic. Multiple pins got confusing for me when it came down to shooting at a live deer.

Got my clover blend (Big Buck Perrenial) and some sugar beets from Welter Seed, as recommended by someone here. Just started growing. Pure Attraction (oats, peas, and brassicas) from WI are going in August for the first time. Ordered them through Amazon. I tried turnips last year, but the deer didn't touch them, and wasn't patient enough to let them find this new food source. Going with half of my field perrenial, half annual. Just picked up a Land Pride Disc Harrow and it has opened up all kinds of possibilities!

3006 low recoil, widely available and cheap ammo. Shots in NY are usually under 100 yards.

holy friggen kidney stone/new appreciation for my wife
vcollaco replied to rob-c's topic in General Chit Chat
I am 43 and have passed 14 kidney stones in my lifetime. 2 I needed lithotripsy for, and one with a stent from the bladder to the kidney. Pissing fruit punch is no fun! And that office visit to take it out, with the "very local anesthetic" is the worst, especially when you are watching the doc navigate the claw through the main vane, in your bladder, on tv, and he can't grab the stent. I'm due, usually summer time is when I get them. Got to drink more water! -
I have an old CVA Optima Pro, matched up with Triple 7 Primers, powder, and Powerbelts. Shot 3 deer with it, all dropped in their tracks. I don't know how more effective on game a bullet can be... Save money, buy a CVA. It's only two extra weeks. Spend the money saved on a scope, powder and bullets. Find the right combo for your specific gun and you''ll kill deer.

I was in a similar situation with my 20 acres and a house. Buy a tractor of your own! I got the Mahindra 3616 with a loader and backhoe in 2014. Best investment(purchase) I ever made. After getting estimates on foundation repairs and drainage jobs, it made more sense to buy my own and do everything myself. If you rent, by the time you get the hang of the controls, you've wasted half a day. You'll end up spending a few grand, which is already a year's payments. There will always be jobs that you'll get done to make it worth the investment. You can always turn around and sell it. I didn't buy a used one because it is not like buying a car. There are so many hydraulic and electrical problems that I would have no idea how to fix, and parts are expensive! You do not know if the guy who owned it before you greased it every 10 hours, changed the oils when needed, etc. I would not buy anything smaller than a 30 HP tractor though... I initially planned on buying a Kubota BX 25. It would not have been enough. It's digging depth/reach was not enough, it would've been underpowered fighting boulders, the bucket would've been too small, etc. This tractor is my car for the next 2 years, but it is the best car I've ever owned. Mahindra's warranty covers you too. You can't get financing and a warranty to match on a used one. My wife at first battled me too, but once she realized that it made sense, she caved. I would also suggest buying all attachments you might need with it. Only adds a few dollars each month. Where is your place?

Breaking ground what to use?
vcollaco replied to corydd7's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I have property in Chenango County. Soil is full of rocks. I think you'll break or bend that cultivator, go with the disc harrow. It might not be heavy enough I used a two-bottom plow, attached to my 36 hp tractor. This year I wanted to invest in a disc harrow, but it is almost $2 grand, so going to rip untouched portion of my field with the tine on my box blade and then go over it with my two-bottom plow. It should be less clumpy than just plowing alone. My plan is to de-rock first this year, plant however it turns out, then buy the harrow next year with less rocks. -
Crazy price ranges out there....

Do the deer eat the brassica mix? I had a mix last year that included purple top turnips and some brassicas, and they didn't touch them. The turnips were half out of the ground, not hard to get to, ended up with turnip soup, roasted turnips, turnip casserole, not roasted venison... -
I keep track of every hunt, not just one's where I killed a deer. It helps me to remember conditions, mistakes, tips, etc. for the following years.

If I get one this weekend, I'll let you know.
