I just went for a short slow walk and saw nothing and spooked nothing. Probably won't be able to hunt again until the end of the month,but then I will thaw out last years bucks tarsal glands and get serious!!

wow,congrats man. Very nice shot too. There is only one problem I see,and that is you are hooked now,so make time for bowhunting!!!

Last year was my first overnight at my buddies camp. I got a doe,that was the first deer hanging overnight at his camp,it is only 30 mins from home but deep in the woods. We celebrated too much and I didn't manage to shoot at the biggest buck i have ever seen with a gun in my hand the next day for fear of my head exploding. A friend got him a week later. So going to not make the celebrating a tradition...

Just walked in to sit on the ground and got busted on the way by a 4 or six point. I thought i was sneakier than that... but i am not. At least he was on his feet!

Core,why don't you give the fixed breoadheads a try on a deer? If they group the same as the field points then I don't know why you are using mechanicals. Seems like you have tried those enough times,give the montecs a go and you might be surprised.

I see the biggest bucks when I pick up my wife from work at 7 p.m. Those guys are not coming out into the fields until after legal shooting light... yet.

i finished my firewood today,all stacked in the basement. This earned me major hunting credit,and this week looks like good hanging weather for a doe even. I have to be a good boy and work too,but i will spend time in the woods,probably in the evenings. Have to get busy if i want to shoot two does and a big buck. I have a feeling that I will get my biggest buck ever with the bow this year. I could be wrong,but won't be,hehehe

i am with grow,what do people think about that lack of penetration? Way out of tune bow? Wasting the energy? i shoot 55# fixed muzzy and they blow through the deer. That picture is just bizarre,there is nothing that should have slowed that arrow if it didn't even make it in the chest cavity.

Moog,i think you did the right thing letting him walk. If it was a doe you wouldn't have thought twice about it not being a good shot. That same attitude should be extended to bucks as well,but it seems people are willing to take much riskier shots when antlers are involved.

I think i might be sore tomorrow,mostly my belly muscles,splitting by hand. I am kind of old fashioned i guess.

Good luck to everyone out,i sawed and split firewood all day,now i am wiped out. Not gonna make it into a stand,probably wouldn't be able to pull the bow back anyhow.
