Got settled in 10 minutes ago,set for the day. I have food and drink and a twitchy finger on the release.

I am going to sit from.9 a.m. on. I can't decide if I should in the oaks where the does have been or where three ridges converge. I am leaning towards the ridge jumction. What do you guys think?

Going to sit for the first few hours downwind of an old wild apple orchard with some community scrapes in it. See if any of the big boys are checking their scrapes this a.m. It sure is bright out here already,thanks to the moon.

You better make sure your kid takes his bow course sooner rather than later. He will be a big help filling the freezer,and probably put you to shame in the process , haha. What is the age for a kid to bowhunt? 12?

I was gonna go to the top corner of my property, a hayfield,buckwheat field and a brushy goldenrod field meet,with some oaks in the woods. I was late getting there,a bunch of does were in the buckwheat and saw me crawling across the hayfield. Eight deer total wandered by,but skirted way around me. They are no dummies apparently. Tough though,didnt get home till four and had to try to get out,almost worked. Next time...

Congrats on the choice and the buck,although this buck makes you look big,not the other way around. It is good to re-examine ones attitude once in a while,and there are so many variations of what makes people happy. We all should enjoy hunting the way we want to. It is a journey,and I haven't shot a two year old buck yet,so I made that my goal this year. I would prefer a 3 year old,but hey,i am not that picky yet.

Self employed mason contractor..I am overqualified,a weak mind and a strong back. Seriously,not doing bad physically at 45. You gotta use your head more than your back. Pays pretty good,winters are slow.

Deer are heavy in the acorns here in central NY. First doe my buddy saw was in heat a little over a week ago.

I only haf 45 minutes this afternoon and decided to go right into the oak flat close to the dirt road. I have been seeing deer in there every time i walked out of the woods after dark. I saw some deer as i was trying to find a good ambush position,about 80 yds off. They saw me too and just meandered away. Then i worked my way in a little further and spooked two more deer mildly. No one snorted. There are a lot of young beech trees in that area as well,can't see shit through those. Then it got dark and i headed back to the truck, i was only 3/8 of a mile away and spooked another deer headed for the acorns. They are really hitting those hard here in Central New York.

You will with the weather coming. Things are gonna go wild in the woods.

Those are the only ages I can determine,oh ,and a six month old as well. After 3,5 it really becomes a guessing game.

Dry here in 4F. Breezy but not bad. Still waiting for a deer to volunteer being food for me...
