  1. I don't know what fast acting lime is. Is it bagged granules? Last time I did like 3 tons over three acres. It was very labor intensive lifting the bags into the spreader. I've read about places where spreader trucks come on your property, but couldn't find any.
  2. Anyone have any experience using liquid calcium instead of granular lime for food plots? See https://buffalo.craigslist.org/grq/d/buffalo-food-plots-why-use-lime-when/6841256233.html I came across a couple of old threads where growalot was using it on garden plants, but that was about all I found on the forum. I think it's bogus, but the lazy part of me wants to believe. Last time I spread lime I bought over 3 pallets worth.
  3. Paula's raised over $60k for Buffalo Hospice with their cannoli donuts. I hope they bring them back next year. https://buffalonews.com/2019/03/13/cannoli-chaos-pays-off-paulas-donuts-wins-big-for-hospice/
  4. MAN GIVES UP ALL FOOD AND DRINKS FOR LENT, WILL ONLY DRINK BEER https://dailycaller.com/2019/03/11/beer-lent-ohio-easter/
  5. Well, factoring in for the double chin, probably should go with the mediums.
  6. I officially own the Kimber Hunter. Did the FFL transfer at Gander Outdoors, as that was most convenient location for the seller. Was quoted $30 fee over the phone, but was charged only $10. I didn't argue. They had the scope I wanted on sale for $474.99 with the Good Sam card, the Vortex Viper HS 4-16X44 Dead-Hold BDC. They only had the display one, and I ran out of time as I was late for an appointment, so I didn't buy it. I looked to buy it online, but they only had the lower magnification model. So I started poking around the internet and found a too good to be true deal on the discontinued Vortex Viper HS LR 4-16X44 Dead-Hold BDC for $419.99 shipped, no tax, from scheels.com. Not sure if there is any real additional benefit with the LR model for me, but it was cheaper than the plain HS, so what the heck. If anyone is interested, the link is here I still need to figure out what size (height) rings I should get, and what kind of rail mount to attach the rings to the rifle. I will call Vortex and or Kimber on those issues. If anyone has any input on rings or rail, fire away.
  7. Belo, when are you looking to have the clover available to eat? I'm in the same boat. I did food plots two years ago, and I forgot what I did when, and I still need to figure it out for this year.
  8. I can buy the first part, that deer seem to look up a lot more than they used to, but why can't looking up be a learned behavior, learned from watching its mother or herd leader?
  9. I'm back on keto and it was the lowest carb option we could find. TF did enjoy the stouts. A few new ones were in the flight he had.
  10. Had the pleasure of having dinner and a beer with @turkeyfeathers at Pizza Plant. Vegetable soup and parmesan-battered artichoke hearts and a Guinness.
  11. So can you get us a deal on membership?
  12. This is from Friday linner at the Yelling Goat. Wings-style pork belly with Berbere spices and medium wing sauce and a deep dish pepperoni pizza. Mrs. Goose and I really like the food there.
  13. Either that or Amherst-Williamsville gangbanger turf wars
  14. It would be interesting to know how many rounds of ammo fired vs. number of deer harvested.
  15. https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-news/why-were-shots-fired-behind-east-amherst-homes If they would just allow crossbows in Amherst . . . .
  16. Exactly what are you attaching the tether to?
  17. @turkeyfeathers, this could be a great way to earn some extra cash with the bunny suit.
  18. Live from the Hamburg fairgrounds . . .
  19. If you fall out of the tree stand and the harness arrests your fall, you could still be left dangling, with all the pressure around your thighs. I forgot the medical term, but being in that position, with the legs dangling, is not good for blood flow. That's why the hunter safety harnesses have an attached loop strap that you pull out after you've fallen and put one or both of your feet into, so you can "stand" while dangling, if that makes any sense.
  20. Well knock me over with a feather--Mrs. Goose volunteered to go to the expo with me tomorrow morning, and then we'll go have lunch at the Yelling Goat. She'll just be sitting somewhere reading her phone, but it's the thought that counts
  21. @G-Man, could you share a report of your visit today? Was there much in the way of hunting outfitters/guides? I am thinking about going Saturday around lunchtime. I should buy a huntingNY cap to wear for things like this.
