  1. Out of likes, my will do. I got my biggest deer in 2014, thats why i know the dates, lol. Back out in the morning, good thing I am patient.
  2. Wow, i am right there with you. Padded some small 8 pointers last year, due to a MASSIVE buck I saw twice that I truly could not get a clear shot on. Passed on a nice 7 point with its 8th busted off in 2015. Truly need to cut the crap, and add to my freezer. Good luck, let me know how you make out...
  3. My goal is 3 deer this week by rifle season. Lol I have not got a deer since 2016
  4. A sincere congratulations! I dream of your experience, been after a certain buck for 3 seasons. Its not about me though, congrats, and nice job! Wish I could make a 40 yard shot.
  5. Same as always for a fun weekend dinner. Minus Mighty Taco Sauce
  6. Oh ok i see, never really tried that method. If I run out of venison, I will get london broil on sale for about a $1.99/lb and go that route.
  7. I use one of those Oster brand 4 tray dehydrators with the jerky setting...works good, have an electric meat slicer as well. I don't mske jerky often, so this works just fine.
  8. 6:30pm last night after I left. Don't get too discouraged Biz, I get the same exact way, i have not had a shot opportunity here at home since 2015, in which I was dumb, and passed the 7 pointer up. We have AR's, and it was early morning of opening day of gun. I come inside some evenings, and am a grouchy person, it does get old, but keep going out Biz. I saw that post about you getting ready to hang up the bows. By the way, I hunt this over 200 hrs each season, I would say. Dark to dark every weekend, I take first WEEK of gun off, sit dark to dark, and even did that bow my first bow season, full week sit. After work until time gets moved back the hour, I sit here after work 4:30-sunset...
  9. A nice buck walked by my blind at about 10 feet. My blind is literally just out of view to the right! Thats 2 legal deer here, that i would be thrilled to death to get. Tough hunting here, and these are respectable bucks for sure here. Very excited!
  10. Thanks guys. I have s TON of brush here, maybe around noonish I will pile some around a bit.
  11. Which i didn't do, and I am worried about. I wasn't sure which was worse, moving things around making all that noise, or leaving this up tucked up against some small pines
  12. Managed to check 3 cams yesterday. I have decent movement by one cam, which is coincidentally near where I took my big buck here in 2014. So i plopped my blind nearby within shot distance. Bucks are slowly starting to show on the cams.
  13. It happens. I drank two cups of coffee fast, then brought my crossbow out, and checked its accuracy. Dealer sighted it in pretty close, but it started raining, and they didnt want to crap this up on me, which i was happy with. I got zeroed in perfectly. This way I learn too! I am NOW in my blind hunting in 3K at home. Good luck Stueben Jerry, and everyone else
  14. Sausage & Ricotta Fussili Shrimp Scampi of some sort.... Clams Casino
  15. Ahhhh I snoozed, and Jen never stopped at the post office Jay!
  16. I do agree with you, but this is for my crossbow, and to be plain simple I cannot afford to screw up a shot. I hunt A LOT, and my place at home here, I have not been presented a shot at a legal buck here since 2015. Also, I want to practice out to 50-100 yards for fun with this crossbow, and do not want to drag my 100 foot tape. What you do with estimating is about what i do now.
