    We are pretty much in the same boat. I remember your posts last winter. I plow roads and the government center where I work, so we can do be at work 30+ hours so I understand. I am waiting to see what happens tomorrow, first plowable event down here for us tomorrow, hoping we just get kept on, instead of the BS of calling us back in 4 hrs.

    I hate snow. Its bittersweet, I made good money with it, but dislike dealing with it.

    At the property i was sort of crying about, I do not have that option honestly. However, I did get multiple bucks on cam from this weeks check. They are apart from does, and all seems calm so, wondering if rut is not here fully. At home I have 5 acres, with 80 ish acres, but I am afraid to still hunt it, sort of big wood scenario, afraid if I spook then, they will know whats up, and go nocturnal, or far away.

    Hoping so. The place in 3M I hunt, had all sorts of rut activity the first week of November LAST SEASON. This year, I am seeing diddly squat there. Yet guys within 15 mins are seeing rut activity. I have PILES of fresh rubs though, I swapped my cam card, see what happens. I do know that last year, deer sighting completely stopped after the first week of November, and I hunted to the last day. Maybe burned the stand out. I dont know.

    I respect that, and am envious of that. I tend to get nervous as in feeling like I am being watched, and get creeped out, pretty pathetic.

    I don't have any pics of it. It's my dad's, and its always put away unfortunately. It has an 11" barrel I think, has a nice dark wood grip, and has a small red dot scope, and ported barrel.

    I like to use the rifle my dad gave me. He gave me a 25-05 Savage when I turned 16, have taken deer with it, plus my big buck. He recently gave me a 30-30 Marlin a few years ago, that I want to get a nice buck with. He has a Dan Wesson .44 handgun that he says he would LOVE for me to kill a buck with. Might take that handgun out at some point then. I do plan to use my crossbow as well. 30-30 is pictured.

    I have 5 days experience, with crossbow, so what do I know? However, the archery DID express evenly pulling back on the string, like you are mentioning. Dealer did not say why... Dealer also stressed to fully seat the knock also, like dbhunter is mentioning. Which I can absolutely see why. For whatever thats worth...
