    After seeing some of the news reports of fights over toilet paper and other groceries this past weekend, and after seeing the absolute empty roads on my morning commute, I am convinced that we are 5-10 days from total societal breakdown at any time.

    Well I didn't necessarily want to "call you out" per say, but I guess I did. I just really dislike when a good debate droops into insults or name calling. I think in general, we (collectively) debate in a pretty civil way.

    I was a lot closer than that. Wifey picked up a dozen baby chicks to boost her flock this year. Maybe we should get 100 more - I can sell eggs out at the end of my driveway. Maple syrup, eggs, and firewood - woohoo, rags to riches baby!! I'll even have enough left in my 401k to cash out and buy this super snazzy retirement boat.

    I get what you're saying, but not even armed with a sidearm for self defense? I mean, I know New Rochelle isn't exactly a war zone, but.. Sorry, I have a daughter in federal law enforcement, and a son in law who is a Sheriff. I don't want either of them unarmed on the job for any reason. These days law enforcement is a target.

    Ugh, I've got about half my retirement fund in moderate risk, and half in safe stuff. I haven't been hurt too bad, but it hurts enough. My losses over the last couple of weeks would have put a killer boat in the driveway. That certainly would have been a better spend than just watching it flush away. At 61, I was thinking of retiring in 1-4 years. Starting to feel like 3-4 years now...
