Found out today that a coworker has a child relative that has tested positive. Co worker was in close contact with the child last week. I was in close proximity to this co-worker occasionally during this week. In and out of my office, handing me papers for signature, sitting near me on a conference call, etc. We’ll see where this goes. Told my boss, and I haven’t been told to stay out yet. Our business is excluded from the ban by being on the essential list. I’m kind of essential myself. As least until we shut everything down. Then not so much. We are down to 15% workforce. If it gets thinner, we’ll be forced to hard stop anyway.

Hunkered down in and around the house today, so I got the Sous Vide going with a top round from a 2018 doe that was in the freezer. 9 hour bath, finished in a skillet, crusted with peppercorns. The absolute definition of tender. The American Haze was good too.

They just postponed the opening of all the access to the Army Corp of Engineers boat launches and access points to the dammed up lakes around the twin tiers. Cowanesque, Tioga-Hammond, and lakes in Arkport are off limits for boat access.

I think there’s a good chance. NY now has the most cases of any state. Cuomo rapidly went from restricting 50% of reporting workforce to 75%. Shutting it all down seems inevitable.

Very, very few cars on the roads this morning between 6:30-8:00. My wife started working from home today until further notice. We had some fairly impactful layoffs here yesterday, and I know more are planned at other local businesses.

Saw two different fights on TV news shows yesterday. One at a Walmart down south, and the other at a Costco, wherever that was. Fists flying over one of them taking the last supplies. My wife went to the Painted Post Walmart Saturday, and she said 75% of the shelves were bare, with some folks yelling at store personnel about why there wasn't any of what they were looking for. Then she got yelled at in the parking lot to hurry up with putting the groceries in the trunk so they could have her parking space. Laughable, really.
