  1. Not really a fan too much. It seems that even when I've done everything I can to show them respect, such as putting my gun or bow down, keeping my hands in plain sight and walking away from it to show I clearly had no interest in anyone getting nervous (me or them) they still seem to be on a power trip. Sorry if it hurts peoples feeling here to hear that but that's how I see it. BTW I've been ticketed once in 34 years of hunting and that was years ago when I was younger, nothing the last 20 plus years yet I still get treated like a "suspect" and not just a guy enjoying the day afield hunting
  2. Is this Charlie ? I sent you a PM, very interested
  3. Jack, I'm always looking for a good guide in western NY...why do you have one ?
  4. Just like the title says guys. I'm looking to buy a stripped lower receiver for an ar build. I'll consider any that you have since here on Long Island Kathleen Rice (our D.A.) has made them almost impossible to buy. If you have one e mail me at [email protected] thanks Sab
  5. Just a thought...go to nysoga.com its all the licensed guides in NYS and see who offers hunts in the area you're looking to go to..
  6. Thanks guys HB just so you know there's no facebook page, I did a search Sab
  7. Thanks a bunch, truly appreciate it Ground patrol I'll take the number but I'm going to call the place NY Bowhunter gave me. If NY Bowhunters place can't do it or doesn't do it anymore I'll try your guy. Thanks to all Sab
  8. NYBowhunter I'll take his name and number if you can find it. I'd appreciate it. Joe Ive used Richie in the past and he's done mounts for me and all but he doesn't make sausage or kielbasa etc and all Ive ever heard about is how great the stuff is and I figured I'd give it a try this year. Thanks for all the help; guys
  9. Dang, 69 views and no one knows a decent butcher ? Come on guys, I'm not looking for much...
  10. Ive done a search and couldnt come up with anything. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good deer processor who also does sausage, maybe some kielbasa or jerky. I live on the Island but hunt up in the Catskills, Any help would be appreciated Thanks Sab
  11. I just threw up in my mouth........
  12. This topic comes up on every hunting board every year. Ive tipped ff it were the owner who was guiding me and Ive tipped the guides. Ive tipped if I was successful and Ive tipped if I wasnt. Ive not tipped to. You need to give more specifics like how much are you paying and what are you getting for it ? Any days with the guide or is he just gonna say "heres where I found him, if you get him call me" Ive done the 10% thing up to 25% and I always tip the cook if there is one whether I get something or not
  13. I was a member of the sswa for a few years, a nice enough bunch of guys and the coffee and donuts were good at the meetings. The problem I had was I was a single hunter(i didnt know anyone in the club) and I joined to meet other duck hunters who I could go out with or who would take me out and it was dam near impossible since we as waterfowlers are secretive by nature. I didnt get much out of it but if you want to join give it a try Sab
  14. My first year hunting out in 9, looking forward to it. I've heard good things and I'm excited about the chance to see a nice size buck but if I don't get one I'll be fine
  15. Is this a joke ?? Really ?? it's simple SSS
  16. The bear did everything I typed in..fished, danced, sex, sang, jumped...... loved it !
  17. Geno, I looked into it a while back. I called the county where I was interested in buying land and asked about tax sales etc. They were real helpful (keep in mind this wasn't Nassau where I live) and gave me all the info I needed to bid etc. I went and checked out the auctions and bid on a few pieces of land but I was out bid by what seemed like "professional" bidders All in all if I had more cash on hand I feel like I couldve gotten a piece and they were going for a reasonable amount. Just my experience
  18. I still have about 4-5 of those orange arrows. God I loved them !
  19. Good to hear of a nice experience, thanks Sab
  20. Same here...if you need another all I need is a few days notice, most of the time I can just cut and go Sab
