    At least a dozen deer just booked by at around 80 yards. I would say there is some chasing going on.

    Wow is it quiet in 8n. I actually heard an animal in the brush pee. Something moved out of my way as I made it to my stand.

    I only have an hour after sunup so hopefully I see some action right away. I sat for 9 hours yesterday so I paid some dues. afternoon evening looks like rain but we'll see. On the kids note... I have brought my six year old out twice this year but only when the weather was good and for a short 1-2 hour sit to get him used to it and he now feels like he is a hunter. As he gets older I will bring him a little more each year. He loves it. I like how you put things into perspective Shawnhu, "Enjoying time together" Memories are made in many ways.

    Breathe... I was reading moogs story of his buck today and decided I'd do some grunting myself. A few minutes later a big buck came in and wouldn't come closer than 50 yards. Too far for me and it was getting dark. Not bad to sit for 9 hours and then see that. Whew. I'll be back there for an appointment with him in the morning. Thanks moog

    At least he was over the property line but just facing the wrong direction in my opinion. And yes I'd have a beer for him. No sense getting huffed up about it.

    Just walked by another hunter in a climber on the backside of my property. He had his head down looking at his phone. Wonder if he's reading this forum. Lol. Didn't expect to see him.

    Few more minutes and I gotta go for a walk. Only so many ways you can sit. I'll switch stands this afternoon and sit over a new scrape that opened up about a week ago.

    Whenever I hear antlers I wonder if it's another hunter.

    Good idea but I left mine in another stand. I don't hear them anymore so maybe at least they will head in opposite directions.

    Just heard some antlers clashing somewhere. Weird how the terrain here can make sound travel . The creek bed is like a string with cans.

    Sounds almost like what I did last year before finally posting cause I actually got my first deer. I lerked and learned quite a bit here tho and still learn. First year for bow for me too.

    He was rather plump. He has all the acorns he wants since apparently there are no deer in these woods.

    Just had a red squirrel a foot above my head in the tree. I looked up and it scared it pretty good.

    Way warmer than I expected. The temp actually went up over night. Can't wait for the circus to come to town. Scrapes everywhere.

    That's not a lot of doe permits but may be why you're seeing so many bucks. Trying to increase the doe in the area. I'm in the same boat with no dmp tag for 8p except I've seen more doe than bucks and actually haven't see any bucks except for on trail cams a little. I'm glad I also hunt 8n 8h where they give doe tags like crazy. Have fun at camp.

    When you hear a buck grunting in the woods it is pretty amazing. The buck I got last year was headed to a doe grunting all along. Sounds like gurgling indigestion to me. Haven't heard anything like it in a grunt tube.
