  1. Nice. I'm going to try to challenge myself this year 2017 to try to go mainly wild game instead of store bought meat. Hard not to put some pork in the smoker though.
  2. WHAAT!! Don't worry I'll eat some leftovers for you from the weekend tonight. Without sangria
  3. oops I meant if anyone would give up an 8p tag
  4. I hope they cut the corn by me. I could use some increase in trail cam traffic.
  5. 8p was a hard tag to get this year. I didn't get selected for one. I have seen more doe down where I hunt in 8p than where I can hunt in 8n. I'm trying to switch to mostly wild game this year instead of buying so much beef. As the season starts and goes on if anyone would give up an 8n tag that they aren't going to use that would be appreciated.
  6. I've seen this before. Had to weed out a couple selling realtors as this was there common practice.
  7. Whatever they are they sure are weird. Pretty cool to see something in your life you've never seen before. probably happens more if we pay better attention.
  8. Why I find blood stained arrows sometimes and dead deer carcasses. Know your self and stay within your comfort level. There's no shame in that.
  9. Last year my legal range was less than 30 yards. It's complicated but I'm basically surrounded by housing developments. This year I have more range(on one property but with no dmp tags, but not the other) but haven't been able to practice with my 12 gauge. I want to be sure I get the deer meat without any spoilage. I'm trying to get most of next years meat for my family from the wild not the store. Except for bacon, pork shoulder, some ribs and a few odds and ends. I love the smoker. I'm barely a hunter. too scared to mess something up and not want to do it. If I didn't like meat so much I'd not care.
  10. I'm like a 30yard kinda guy. I practiced with my bow quite a bit this summer so i'll go 30 yards. I am also about 30 yards with my 12 gauge. I never practice with it. I don't want to mess up.
  11. Lol. Lobster was for my wife and kids for a surprise. My 6 year old was so excited he hugged my wife when I served it up. I ate the ribs. I picked one rack up and it fell out of my hands due to tenderness. Holy moly good. Sangria....eh. I'll stick to the beer thread
  12. Man that's some nice sangria. Thanks turkey feathers for the suggestion. Paired great with my smoked ribs washed down with a nice smoked double.
  13. Roger! We think alike. I like the spikiness factor for sure.
  14. So that would work for me too... But why does it work for you? I see a long tined spikey character that still can grow but has a really nice wide spread. It has such a wide form and long growth that it almost looks sharp. I like him. I hope you get to see him soon!
  15. The first one I took worked last year but shouldn't have because it was an online only course. Funny thing was I didn't even have a bow last year but bought all the tags I could for some reason. This year I got no bow tag so I took a real one.
  16. My first was actually a doe. Then I got my first buck last day of gun. Both with the same gun. In fact I still have two slugs from the first 5 pack I bought so I'm still good for this year. I added a bow this year so I'm excited to get out earlier and my tag just showed up today in the mail.
  17. I just took my bow safety course again and dec clarified that it was rescinded
