    I was hoping you guys would say"deer will avoid it go get warm and watch football and have a beer". Neighbors occasional have bonfires in the summer but not this time of year usually. And not many wood stoves around here either.

    Weird wind. So I can see my breath heading east.However about 700 to 800 feet north of me my neighbor is burning stuff. I have smokey smell and ashes falling on me from there so I'm guessing the hot air is rising and where it's rising to the wind is south but at my level it's heading east. I thought it's figuring some of this wind stuff out but now I don't really know. Oh well I hope the deer don't care but I'm not expecting to see anything.

    Was expecting to see more harvest posts today. I'm 5 minutes from stand and hope to see some action. I would love a nice doe or two to show up. see ya out there

    I'd say it all started with my son. He's still so passionate about hunting. Last year he even made his own rabbit trap and helped clean and butcher some rabbit we caught and ate. I was able to save a little money on their lifetime licenses because of their age so I hope we can stick with it. My oldest son is 6 now and can pretty much tell you what the parts are that come out of a deer and he's only seen it 2 times and once was in the dark

    Decided to go check out the thick area that my buck came out of and was probably bedded in.

    I was almost gone take a rest this morning but my body picked itself up around 415 this morning again. I'll be out there again looking for a nice plump doe until around 830 ish. Pretty good to hear reports of deer on their feet.

    I only smoke with real wood that I cut and chop myself or a kind of texas charcoal etc. Not into briquettes. We run the smoker year round and I have pics to prove it and will make more pics. I think some of them are in the what's in your smoker thread. Real wood equals real smoked meats.

    Larry302 invited me back because I didn't take any coffee breaks last time. Just got up in the stand and it's very nice in these woods.

    Decided to go fo a walk where I could smell the buck from yesterday. It still smelled like buck.
