  1. Agree.....just talked with my sister last night.....we are renting a lake house in August on one of the finger lakes.....also booking a trip to Florida for April 2022. Gotta look at the bright side...! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  2. Keep plugging Eddie......my Dad is turning 74 in January and my boys and I love every minute we get to spend in the woods with him........we have no problem gutting and hauling for him! He finally sat in our enclosed shack his last few sits and now loves being outta the wind has added a whole new perspective to hunting for him. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  3. What made the hunter go this route? Just something different or did he pack it out and wanna remember the hunt that way? Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  4. Beauty of a morning....light wind and all settled in. Hope they are moving this am.....can hunt till mid morning hoping to capitalize on the new extended late season in the southern zone. P.S......thank you DEC for giving us some extra time hunt. Had to go with new powder after the misfire last night.....so I am ready and waiting. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  5. I was actually thinking about the same thing. Pull the booster seats....and take a run to Delta Sonic. They have some cheaper interior deals that may just hold me over until spring when I can give it a good clean myself. I gotta grab one more blind tomorrow morning before the storm hits and then I may take it in real quick. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  6. I wanna puke my truck and hunting room/home office are a mess....the hunting room was great until I decided to organize and catalog all my ammo. So step one is to finish cataloging ammo and reloading supplies and then move on to washing and storing hunting clothes from the season. I currently have a jam packed truck and my trailer is still attached until everything gets tucked away before the big storm Xmas Eve. To add to the mess my boys tagged along this year so the back seat is a dumping ground from them. But hey putting it all back together is half the fun. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  7. Did your employer imply that you were going to be mandated to take it? You are the first I have heard this from......thank God for unions if your employer did try to mandate.....it's your choice not the mans. On a side note I am taking mine as soon as it's available to me....most likely later next month. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  8. Got out of the blind around 4:42 and was going to shoot the ole muzzy so my boys could see it......well pulled the hammer back and just a click of the primer. Duped by damp powder.....thank God we didn't have brown in the crosshairs....but still frustrating. Then around 4:46 steps out three real nice doe....two were donkey doe and shooters all day.....but they get to live another season! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  9. I am guessing she laughed her ass off at you......as would my wife.....and she is a hunter. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  10. I typically get a wicked sinus infection every October that knocks me on my ass for a day or so......well since we have no where to go...or anyone to be around I skipped right past that fun this year. But on a side note my young nephew still attends daycare through all this and he ended up sick as hell with crupe and other upper respiratory garbage......young kids can't wear masks so they are still batting a 1000 with the dreaded daycare sicknesses that get passed around. 11. 6000....or you ment 600?? Weren't you the one picked up alot for your buddies....so the 6000 wasn't totally out of your pocket? Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  12. Here we go......Hail Mary full of grace!!!!! Today I am thanking the inventor of ground blinds and buddy heaters! Wind is whipping and hard ice precip is falling! LFG!! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  13. The doe I shot was a 1.5 year old.......and I got 31 or 32 lbs back.....she was taller but scrawny. I got an old shed that came with the house and it's seen better days. Gonna get a new amish shed in a few years and this will provide enough space to process away from the house. My wife is a hunter as well.....but there is no way she is gonna let a deer with ticks near her home....so the shed it will be. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  14. I am hearing people who get it and complete both shots will be given a vaccination card. Then because of this government created card this will then allow airlines to require proof of the card before you fly or countries can ask for proof before entering. Of course these are just rumors.....but isn't everything we read on the internet true. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  15. Only processed a few by myself before .......so you got 29......what did he weigh after being gutted?? Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks for the heads-up.....I was gonna head over tomorrow. Need some for late season geese....gonna give it a go for the first time with a buddy who is very experienced. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  17. This was the most time I have spent in the woods in years. As many of you know and have seen from my posts I have 4 and 6 year old boys and have truly soaked in every moment of covid laced 2020 with them. Being home alot I have been able to get to the woods for the last few hours and with next to nothing else to do we have made it a point to be outside a ton. Although alot of hunters measure success in inches of bone.... this season was by far my least successful seeing mature shooters. Even though there were plenty of shooters on cam and a buck was taken off the lease in the high 130's(#2 shooter on the property) I have to say this was the best season of my life. Both my boys were with me the Sunday of opening weekend that we harvested a doe. They were there for it all....and to be honest it was a really crappy first time experience when it came to recovery. We shot the doe right near the end of legal time and of course she didn't flop right over and took off like a bat out of hell through the vineyard we hunt. Well after backing out and getting flashlights and an extra set of eyes we went back out in the cold crappy rain and began the track. These guys were dialed in from the get go and my buddy and I weren't giving up without them finding this deer. Well low and behold an hour and a half later we found her piled up in the grapes...stiff as a board. She went on a death run after the shot and the rain really killed the blood trail but these boys never gave up. Wish I would of had a proper setup to process cause I know they would have been in for it all! Don c I know exactly what you mean when you talk about measuring success with being around others....I rarely hunt solo and will take my noisey, snack eating, question asking boys with me everytime even if it doesn't mean seeing a single deer. The success in this sport to me is measured in many ways....and I couldn't have been a more successful man this season! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  18. @Zeek I am out that way if you want something from Hoot I can grab it for ya and cut the distance on your drive. If I get the opportunity to dump a fox or yote this winter I am going to have his daughter or mother make a hat for my boys. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  19. How do you keep them from growing bigger? Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  20. Last ditch hail mary tomorrow......when we packed up at 4:45 they were still combining the field. Hopefully the deer will moving tomorrow afternoon. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  21. Developing situation at our lease.....got a call from my Dad who was going for the afternoon watch.....the neighbor is finally cutting his corn. Could be the game changer we were hoping for......kinda like xmas came a little early today! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  22. My buddy took a young buck last week with a Savage 220 at 100 yards. Was using a 3" remington accutip. Did some damage and didn't go far. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  23. Wow........that is unreal. Great teaching point right there....thanks for posting. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks......start a new thread....may keep us entertained through the holidays! Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
  25. Well done Phade......that's part of our job as sportsman that people don't really understand until they walk a few miles in our shoes. By any chance can you post a pic of this injury...... completely understand if you don't want to but it may be interesting for people to see. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
