I've been looking through some of the old gear my dad and uncles used to hunt with and remembering that these products were some of the best technology of the day. Let's make a list of outdated products and gimmicks that have gone to the wayside. They can either be something you loved and wish was still around or something you can't believe was ever marketed. I'll start with the old string tracker that attached to your stabilizer bushing and would send a line out with your arrow to aid in tracking. So let's hear some retired equipment. If you do a search for molle frame with straps, it should come up with some places to buy them. I'd imagine you can also pick them up at an army navy surplus store if you have any local. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

I'm on the fence with this one. I can see where bowguy is coming from, until recently you couldn't pay me to look at one of those economy guns. And that's not thinking I'm above using them or anyone who does, I just can't justify throwing good money down on what I feel is a subpar product. Now some of them have gotten better as far as quality and they are certainly capable of any hunting situation I've ran into so if that's what someone can afford and they are happy with it then that's great and you won't hear me knocking anyone for that. Well no matter what I do it keeps coming out upside down but the 460 is going to be my main choice again this year. First runner up is a Marlin 1895g in 45-70. Both will be running handloads. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Probably one of the best books I've read. He's not an author who's trying to sell you any gimmick or product but actually teaching you how to increase your odds by using the terrain to your advantage. I don't think I've found a single person who doesn't like this book after reading it. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Some years are quicker than others. I got one in 2012 and got the age and patch the same time as a buddy that got one in 2011, around end of September of 2013. I got another one in 2013 and waited about a year before I called the Dec to see how long it would be and they said that there's only one place in the country that does the aging and it depends on their workload. That one they lost the tooth so I think I'll be waiting forever on that one. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Anybody have any luck stopping all the email notifications? I've adjusted all of my settings to only notify me once a day but I'm still getting a ton of emails throughout the day and night. Pretty much everytime a new thread is started in a category that I follow. Any help would be great, thanks Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

I would hope so with 3. You been going for 9t? Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Yea unfortunately it's a throwaway society, it's easier and cheaper to replace most appliances instead of repairing them Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Generally leaks are repaired by brazing with a torch then the system needs to be drawn into a vacuum with a vacuum pump and then the refrigerant should be weighed back in. All the equipment would cost way more than a new one Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
-
It probably is repairable but in my opinion wouldn't be worth it if you don't have the equipment needed to do it Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
-
Out of curiosity how do you plan to repair said leak and recharge system? Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Just one small one so far this year Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

That is a great bear anywhere! I'm not sure which would be a bigger accomplishment, getting a crack at a bear of that caliber or getting it back to the truck. Congrats!Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Yea we were in the west end of the lake near Wilson and Olcott, northern end of Niagara county Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

The captain was Mike Johannes with on the rocks fishing charters. I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in a Lake Ontario salmon charter.Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

The guys running the charter definitely knew their stuff and made it an awesome day. The work they put in is unbelievable. It's hard to even take credit for all their effort.Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Ended up being a great day on the lake. Wasn't sure what to expect but I can definitely say none of us were disappointed. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk

Must be autocorrect knew better than me, I thought they meant bandana when I read it the first time tooSent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
-
Yea I wasn't sure if it would do much good or not, I've had it for a few years and always forget I've got the thing so hardly ever use it. Not sure if it even works that well on land to tell you the truthSent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
-
Apparently auto correct thinks I should have typed banana instead of bandana Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
-
Out of curiosity have you ever tried a thermacel? I've got one, maybe I'll take it along and see if that works. I've never heard of the banana thing before, I'll be sure not to bring anySent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
