You know whats funny. While out shed hunting from Jan to mid April walking through some of this thickest stuff i could find out there i only had one tick on me. I know this is not optimal tick season but i was expecting to have a lot more on my clothes like i didn in other years. At the same time while shed hutning upstate i was loaded with them. Its usually the other way around not too bad upstate but real bad down here on the island. John

I know its not in your options but i use muck boots and i will never buy another boot again. they are the most comfortable boots you can buy and 100% waterproof. Just an option to consider. John

I have been using it for the last couple of years and i feel that it is great camo. I have the leafy suit and the ultimate pants and jacket and they are both well made. I have been using the leafy suit for turkey this season and have not had one bird spook or see me yet. John

WOw thats a nice buck too bad he got hit by a car or he would have been a real beauty this year. At least you get to keep his rack though so its not a total loss. Erussell i know what you mean about the wife getting annoyed my girlfriend thinks im totaly crazy i have been out every weekend since feb most of the time leaving at 6 in the morning to get to my shed hunting grounds about an hour away. Today was my last day out for the year and i found one more which makes for a total of 23 for the season. Now its turkey time im sure that will go over real well with the girlfriend too lollll.. I went out for a few hours with my friend charlie and i was able to get one more to add to the collection. Not a big one but after 4 hours of walking i was happy to have something to bring home John

Cool Sheds guys!!! I went out this weekend but i didnt find any. Bad weekend of shed hunting for me . Oh well there is always next weekend lol. John

I really like the Asat camo. The 3d suit is awesome for ground hunting or treestand hunting. I also just purchased the Asat ultimate pants and Jacket and they seem to be made really well. John

Awesome videos wvhunter. Wny that is one really nice set. Too bad he wouldn't sell you the other but like you said maybe in time he will want to part with it. I had the day off on friday so before going upstate i went out east for a few hours and found 6 more sheds. The first one was on old one. Then after searching around some more i found an old set probably from last year. It would have been a nice set if it was fresh but they were all chewed up. Then about 10 minutes later i found another set a rea small 5 point set Now with 19 sheds total for the season i told myself im not leaving until i find 20 which i did about an hour later And here they are all together. After shed hunting i went upstate to do some coyote. We didnt get any coyotes but i did manage to find one more shed up there . All in all it was a good weekend bringing home 7 total sheds. Not too many weekends left before the spring greenup so hopefully ill be able to get a few more in the new few weeks. John

Awesome sheds guys!!!! I Went back out this weekend as well. Yesterday i found 4 more. Within the first 5 minutes i found this one. Then after walking for 3 more hours and not finding anything i found these 3 all within an hour. And here they are at my house safe and sound from the other shed hunters out there lol.. Then today i went out with mike for a few hours and we found 4 more. Mike spotted the first one and his first shed ever. It was a nice 3 point side. Shortly after that i found these two laying in the same spot. One was an old one from last year and the second one which was a small 4pt side and the match to the one i found yesterday Not long after that i came across another oldie which was a chewed up 5 point side from 2 years ago. And here they are all together for the day. Here is the set that i found the one from yesterday and the one from today. All in all it was a good weekend with me adding 7 more to my collection and mike getting his first shed. Next weekend we are going upstate and have some good spots to look in up there now that the snow has finally melted. Good luck to anybody going out this week!!! John

I find most of mine in bedding areas on south facing slopes where the snow melts off quicker. Also doesn't hurt to look in the white oak patches where the deer were digging through the snow to get to the acorns. Good Luck next time out!!!! John

I went out on Sat down here on Long Island and found 5. I also went out for a few hours yesterday upsate but still too much snow. Then today i went out in putnam county but only had about two hours to look and came up empty handed. Here are my finds from Sat. Here was the first set that i found about 10 minutes into my hike. the second one i found was from 2 years ago but was still in decent shape not long after finding #2 i came across the third forth find of the day a nice 5 point As i was going down the same tail i found number 5 for the day a year and a half old 4 point. and here the all are safe and sound back in my home loll hopefully this weekend i will have some more luck. I also hunted with my buddy for coyotes yesterday and i missed one at a full run and had a shot at another but was in line with me and another hunter so i didnt take the shot. We got 4 all together yesterday and it was a great day in the woods. John

Yea i was up in coventry this weekend and there was about the same. A lot of it melted during the rain on sat night into sunday but then i heard it changed back to snow so im not sure how much is there now. John

Thanks guys. That link is pretty cool thanks for sharing it with me. Looks pretty accurate too b/c i know by my place up in greene county there is about 2 ft of snow and thats what it is saying on the map. John

Can anybody tell me how much snow is up in the Coventry area of chenango county area. I'm planning on going up this weekend but im not sure how much snow is still up there. Thanks, John

Same here i was going to head upstate this weekend but now with all the snow im def staying down here on the island where we are getting all rain today. I might head up to putnam county for the day tomorrow but im not sure yet. John
