Friday 10/21 Hunted the afternoon in greene county. I saw 2 6points 2 does and a button buck. Was a good afternoon with a lot of deer up on thier feet moving. Saturday 10/22 I filmed my brother on a farm we hunt but we didnt see any movement from the stand. Got down around 9:30 and scouted around. We found some small rubs but nothing worth getting excited about. Saturday 10/22 PM Hunted Chenango county. Had one button buck come by the stand around dark. Sunday 10/23 AM. Had 4 does and a button buck come by the stand at 9:30. They came in feeding on acorns and stayed for about 5 minutes before heading off to bed for the morning. Sunday 10/23 PM Didnt see any deer from the stand. I spooked one while walking in that was right near my stand that was feeding on acorns. Either small do or button buck. Monday 10/24 AM I had a small 4 point come in under my stand he fed on apples for a while then made a scrape about 40 yards out before going into the thick brush to bed down for the morning. Climbing down in my climber around 10:30 i heard a buck grunting but he never came out of the brush and i couldnt see what it was. I also had a coyote come by the stand at first light but it was too far off to take a shot. All in all it was a good weekend of hunting even though i didnt see any shooter bucks. Hunting Long Island this weekend so hopefully our luck will change and the big boys will start moving around more as the pre-rut heats up. John

hunted 7P from sat morning until yesterday. Saw a lot of does a button buck and 4 pointer. Had the 4 making a scrape about 40 yards out and found a few other small scrapes. Didnt see any big buck sign yet but this area usually holds a few real nice deer every year. Going back up second week of november for a few days and the rut should be going real good by then. All the deer i did sas were either going to or from apple trees. John

I recently bought the ASAT Ulitmate Jacket and Pants and i must say i think this is the best camo on the market today. I know it doesnt follow the traditional camo patterns but for some reason when i wear this suit i feel like the deer look right through me. I have had a few deer this season look up at me in the stand and usually they will spook and take off. Sunday afternoon i had 4 does and a button buck around me and two of them spotted me up in my stand. All they did was look up for a second then just start eating again like i wasnt even there. I also had a 4 point yesterday morning look up at me after my cam hit the stand. It was really like he looked right through me and just started eating again and walked off and made a scrape about 40 yards out. Then i was ground hunting on Friday afternoon and had a doe walk right up to me and came by at about 5 yards and just kept eating and browsing around before walking off. My brothers keep telling me that i stick out like a sore thumb when i am wearing it but i will never buy another camo ever again. It has def proven itself and i highly recommend it to anybody looking to buy new camoflague. John

Had a young 4pt come in yesterday afternoon and make a scrape about 40 yards out. Was pretty cool to watch and i also got the whole thing on film. Hopefully he makes it through the season. He was grunting as he came in but there were no other deer around. I have noticed that this year the deer have been very vocal. Almost every deer i have seen this season has either been grunting or bleating. John

Long island 4 bucks 1 with bow tag 1 with gun tag Get two 1C dmps and shoot two does and get two either sex tags for LI. I used my 1c dmp the first day so i now have an either sex tag for LI and a bow tag for upstate also. John

SItting at work right now waiting for the day to end already so i can head upstate. Going up to chenango county this weekend to hunt a great piece of land that i always see big bucks on every year. I will be self filming this weekend but i hope to get everything on film if a shot does present itself. Gonna be up there till monday night and i dont have the best cell phone reception in that area but ill try to update the journal as the weekend goes on. Good luck to everybody this weekend. John

Same in 4s and 4g. Was one of the slowest weekends i ever had with no deer sightings from the stand at all. every deer i saw all weekend was bedded and weather it be in the fields at night driving to my spot or walking in to the stand in the afternoon. Hopefully it will pickup real soon in Region 4. John

Well The weekend came and went and i didnt even see one deer from the stand. The wind was real bad all weekend where i was with 20 to 30 mph gusts which screwed me up. Im hoping for a better weekend this weekend im off on monday and i am going up to one of my favorite spots to hunt in Chenango county where i always see big bucks. Cant wait to get back out there on Sat morning. Good luck to anybody hunting this week. John
