Luck. So much seems to depend on that first guess that I've given up on any real strategy once I found that the same starter really wasn't giving me much of an advantage. The only thing I do consistently is put any letters I get at the front of my next guess, which really helped today.

Three and the first guess were all misses. Got lucky.

There are other types of saddles but this may not be the right place for a discussion of them.

But you still have to get your horse to where you're going.

Would you want a traditional looking truck or more of a utility/work vehicle? This guy started his company in the Catskills and moved to Detroit a few years ago. Not sure how close they are to manufacturing. Cool truck.

Five. NYT in three.

Was that him trying to be funny? You may have to explain to me how smart/presidential it is to make jokes - something Trump is particularly bad at - during a time when people were scared, dying and losing their livelihoods. Biden had a slip of the tongue (as we all do), Trump didn't. He simply repeated as he often does, the last thing he heard. When you have no moral centre or intellectual acumen, you're easily influenced. Look at some of the early cabinet members comments about Trump when they tried to get hm to explain why he held a certain belief. His response was, "I don't know ... I just do." He'll be knee deep in something but it won't be support. Well, first off that graph is legitimate. What is shows is that when you are handed something that is going up, you strap on and ride the wave. On the other hand, when things are heading down, there's little you can do to change that trajectory. But again, please point to the bad Obama part. It's there. He does to this conservative. He was also laughed at for suggesting that Russia was the enemy. You want things to be good - vote the middle. You want chaos, vote the extremes of either party. I'm holding off on a transplant until they can put my brain into a sexy robot body. DeSantis is dangerous. Gabbard seems to be getting weirder. Too bad as I quite liked her. They may have considered a degree of unpredictability with Trump but once they realized he was a paper tiger and would do anything to be perceived as a tough guy and member of the gang, they simply used him. I hope so. Hard to say how long they last. Or what's left of Ukraine when it's all over. Why would they need Biden? They have been planning to weaken the US for years. I'm not sure China can prop Russia up for long. Just don't start taking it out on the little Russian lady who runs the cafe in the Lower East Side. On the plus side, the lines for the famed Ukrainian restaurant, Veselka are around the block.

Harris has been a major WTF? I don't recall her being this lightweight during the campaign. Biden, as I have said multiple times, is too old for the job. His speeches? Well, this is a guy who has had a lifetime of gaffes and I think it's a tie as to who says more stupid things, Trump or Biden. I do think that you can look at this extraordinary sea change in the European playbook with regards to Russia and is in part due to Biden's ability to foster and work with allies. He has had a lot of experience with that level of international diplomacy. Hard to say how they would have responded to Trump. The energy independence claim seem to be less clear that everyone believes. I'm off for a medical procedure and will find some relevant stuff later. Assuming we get through this was unscathed, the next election will be interesting. Not Biden or Harris, so no idea who the Dems field. No way it's Trump as the Reps are turning from him daily. I would like Romney for a lot of reasons. DeSantis scares the hell out of me as he can take advantage of Trumpian tactics, but unlike Trump, isn't an idiot.

I was responding to the contention of how badly the economy was under Obama and that Trump miraculously turned it around. That's not accurate by any metric. Yes, things are shitty right now. The world's economic machine was shut down for two years and now there's a major war in europe. We go from almost no need for oil to soaring demands with major supply uncertainty. It seems naive to blame this on a president. Things will get worse then better, as that's how this usually plays out.

NYT in six. Got four letters in three moves but too many options for that second space.

Tough one. Five.

If they can only hold out until Russia collapses. Russian general gets killed in the field and his officer has to call it in on a cellphone with a local sim card because their secure comms systems are kaput. You may have seen it already as it's in the greatest hits reel. Right after "I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning?" and before “nobody knew that health care could be so complicated.”
