That first pic! Hard to say how a weaponless grown man would fare against a pissed-off fisher.
-
I used wildpeaks also and liked them. I do believe they were designed to be a lighter off-road tire for SUVs and may not be heavy enough for a larger truck.

Not if but when - You will get Covid

That sounds rough. Best of luck to everyone. -
Same. I got the first, third and fourth letters on my first guess, but there were too many options.

You could argue that it would make you a very careful shot.

Someone had to say it.

I can sell you an NFT for one bitcoin. It's not a very helpful how-to article. More just me losing my mind in Iceland while trying to catch a fish. -
Three and five.

Very cool. A little two person "hot pot" we discovered and a bottle of whisky I left for the next person. -
I would focus on those bubble lines. And maybe tie another nymph on and then some type of indicator which would allow you get a more natural drift once mended.

Honestly, for a day of fishing I would get a guide. Then get the card. It comes with a brochure and you'll probably pass a lake or two on your trip. Tell you what. Go to the hotdog stand in Reykjavik and order two with the works. If you don't think they're the best you've ever had, I'll refund your money. https://www.fodors.com/world/europe/iceland/experiences/news/youll-never-guess-where-i-had-the-best-hot-dog-in-the-world Sheep's head and fermented shark ... you're on your own. -
Definitely a few there that should work. How are you fishing the nymphs?

Yes, I explained that when TFFJ wanted it, I pulled it from GC. They own it for a year, then I can put it back up. Working on a new piece on why this bag (seen here in Patagonia) is the greatest damn fishing bag ever invented. -

Keep in mind that those prices are with guide and gear. Day tickets on a particular river are much less. I think I paid $75 for the Varma in late September. But it sounds like you need a guide. I guess keep reaching out until you find the one that sounds like a good fit. They're a nice people. FYI - when I fished there a few years ago, my guide was a little offended that I offered a tip. He said that he makes a good living. That may have changed so do a little research. I'm sure you know that all the rivers are private and you have to pay to fish them. Salmon rivers are very expensive. There are a few less expensive options such as renting an airbnb with river rights or the fishing card. For about $50 you have the rights to fish 36 lakes around the country. No rivers though. If you're travelling around and just want to wet a line, that's a good way to do it. https://nat.is/veidikortid-fishing-card/ I might bring a rod and reel. Pick up a few flies in Reykjavik and try your luck on the road. You never know. General stuff: If you bring any fishing gear it needs to be disinfected at the airport for a cost. $50? If you rent a car, get all the insurance. There are many gravel roads (and roads that are off limits to anything other than a 4WD) and they wreak havoc on cars. They even have a dust insurance which is necessary in the south. Cars are very expensive in Iceland and therefore very expensive to fix. Eat hotdogs. There's a famous stand in Reykjavik but they are great the island over. Also affordable. If you like to drink, bring a bottle. Also expensive. It's very cool. Enjoy. -
Is that your only nymph? If so, I might try running under some kind of attractor dry. Or high stick with a Leisenring Lift at the end. Don't actually lift the rod tip, just stop the rod and let the water raise the fly.

I pulled that when The Flyfish Journal wanted to publish it. Where are you going and what would you like to do? There are inexpensive day trips out of Reykjavik. Start here: https://gofishing.is/ -

Got HUN in two, NYT in six. Damn, that new layout is awful. I can't even see the keyboard and grid at the same time and that running score of what Curious Horse is doing ... yeesh.
