Doesn't really apply to me as I work mostly for myself, but I appreciate what you're saying. Is it fair? Probably not. Were the last 100 years fair or women or blacks? Definitely not. Are race or sex quotas perfect? No. But that doesn't make them invaluable or unnecessary. What I'm not going to do is lose my mind or consider my identity under attack because I lost a gig to someone whose skin colour gave them an extra leg up. I'll just move on.

Growing up poor in a steeltown, nothing was given to me other than as good an upbringing as my mother and her parents could afford. Since then, I've had to compete for everything. None of those things you mentioned affect me in any appreciable way.

My guess is that more people got a flu shot last year than in any other year. Hand washing, staying home and masks all contributed to stopping the spread of colds, flu and covid. I think you can attribute some of the Covid deaths to people who would have succumbed to the flu in a normal year. However, 50K flu deaths vs 500K covid deaths shows how truly infectious the coronavirus is.

Last year at this time, I mentioned that if nothing else comes out of this, the hand washing and masks will stave off colds and flus, and so far, I've been good. I think we may see a change in how people deal with colds and flus in the future. That is, mask wearing when you're sick much like they do in Asia.

After a year in Malaysia I went to Thailand for six weeks of diving, chilling and hooking up with as many women as I could. My beach cabana cost $15/day, food was a couple of bucks and every week a plane would drop off a new crop of European girls. I will say this, do not screw with a Thai guy. Everyday I watched these guys train Muay Thai by kicking palm trees with their shins. At night, they would be in the bar where some drunk British guy would inevitably say something stupid. Can't tell you how many guys I saw dropped on the spot.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting it for kids. I really don't have a solid answer here. It seems too pat to say just use the bathroom that corresponds with your genitalia, as I think there are some genuinely gender dysmorphic kids out there. In the past, they would simply hide it but now that they are freer to be themselves in every aspect of their lives, it seems that they should be allowed to use a bathroom that makes them comfortable. Impractical, but perhaps there's a need for a third bathroom available to anyone.

I spent most of the '80s coked up so got to visit a lot of women's restrooms. Not sure what you guys think goes on in there, but they don't rip their clothes off the minute they walk in. Well, a few times but we locked the door behind us. I've also used a number or restrooms all over the world where there is a common area for hand washing and grooming, and individual stalls that are used by everyone. Seemed to work well.
