Nice morning started out calm then the wind picked up. Drop two nice smallies on a popper. Then the rockbass took over with a few pickerel on a hair jig. I found a nice shoal but couldn't hold the boat on it. I'm going to try sacandaga lake this afternoon. -
Yes I opened the area last year. It's not full sunlight but at least 6-7 hours. It took off last month when there was no ferns. Now there taking over.

Hit piseco lake this afternoon. No cell service at all. The lake steward gave me a few pointer about the lake nice fellow. I marked fish in one spot he said to check. But the wind picked up and my little boat was no match for the white caps. So l fish on land again wind. Going to hit it again tomorrow morning. -
They took over the plot. I pulled a few but I'm not here enough to keep up with them.

That mirror thing cracks me up every time I see it. I have to go with turkey mouth calls too. -
In the beginning of spring I cleared out a little patch on my property and limed it put a bag of throw n grow out it was coming in great last month now the ferns took over. Is there away to get rid of them without killing the plot?

The fishing has been slow the last two mornings. Hopefully this week picks up. Those little rock bass are a lot of fun on light line.

Cracked him yesterday morning haven't seen him. So I'm calling it threat eliminated !!! I kinda wished he didn't jump in his hole that was the first woodchuck I ever shot.
-
I don't think the poison kills anything but mice and rats. He's back there now. Tomorrow it's war!!!

When I got up to my house this morning doing my normal inspection I found a hole in the ground and one going under my house what ever it is cleaned out the mouse bait boxes? Could it be the woodchuck I keep see in the back ? Anyone ever have this happen before?

good luck with the arm. Is that the mohawk river your referring to ? i pass over it in fonda the little info i could find on it wasn't very encouraging. i'm running around with a little 14" puddle jumper right now,but my goal is to own a boat with a steering wheel and a comfy seat!!!

i'm getting back into it to myself.I've largemouth bass fished my whole childhood then got into saltwater fishing. You are right freshwater is more relaxing.I've only caught that one walleye but everything i read says fun to catch and eat.I'll be trying some of the other species like black crappy, perch and catfish. the trout and salmon seem to be the main fish up by me but i know nothing about them yet.

i'm heading up for ten days for the upstate opener and can't wait last year was awesome. i'm still learning how to fish for them in deep water big lakes like great sacandaga lake.i'm going to bounce around this year and try a few new lakes i've been reading about like piseco and sacandaga/pleasant lake.i'd even like to give walleye fishing a try,i caught one last year pretty cool looking fish. anyone else getting ready?

i don't know how to age a hawk but this one seemed young it took it a while to figure out how to break and hold the branch it dropped the first one then fumbled around with the second one before flying off.i can/do watch them all day.
-
They must be building a nest one of them just snapped a branch of a tree and flew away with it.
-
There flying around together now. I hope they do that again it was pretty cool.
-
I just saw two red tailed hawk lock talons and twirle to the ground. I couldn't see where they landed. Anyone ever seen that before? It's a first for me I watch them all day at work.
