  1. i'm with you on whacking some yotes this year.there's been plenty showing up on my cams.
  2. not sure if anyone has one,but there's a safety recall https://ruger.com/dataProcess/rprSafety/
  3. it was a treaty signed by jimmy carter and mexico .If I remember correctly it was pressure from ducks unlimited to get them to shoot less mallards in return we shoot less crows there country bird. crow hunting is awesome it was the first legal hunting I did when I was a kid my father would take me and my older brother every sunday. I was hooked until I started bow hunting now it's once in a blue moon.i gotta blow the dust off my rem.1100
  4. I was up at my house for a few days during my travels through fulton and Hamilton co's. I saw two separate hens with three poults they where smaller then chickens .will these birds make it? I don't remember ever seeing birds this small so far into the summer.only 40 days until opening of the fall season.
  5. Ready to go 180gr. Hornadays @ 100 yrds. Maybe one more trip to the range to see how the sierras fly. No sure what happened with the flyer on the left.
  6. That was my first pistol. Kick myself in the butt for getting rid of it.
  7. Big s.o.b it seemed like forever waiting for him to stand up. Cracked under the Chinny chin chin. I had the trigger polished on my 10/22 last month what a dream to shoot now.
  8. i was going to start over so I weedwhacked the area and everything was still growing underneath so I reseeded some patches. The second plot wasn't doing to well so I left it alone until next year.
  9. Would a 110 conibear do the trick there's another one under my house. He was loungeing on my front step when I got here last nite. I don't want to spend all weekend looking him. I figured I can put the trap over the hole.
  10. same here with the 2315's I haven't changed anything but the fletch's in 30+ years.
  11. i'd love to see your when you walked up to that !!!!
  12. those are 180gr. factory loads i'm going to try some hand loads next week. I couldn't get use to the pistol grip luckily this kid wanted to trade they fit both our guns so done deal. I'm really starting to like this rifle a lot.
  13. it's a 7600 those date stamps aren't that accurate the one on my 700 dates it back to 1921. anyway I ordered a cap hopefully that will work.i just traded the stock for a factory one.
  14. thanks buckmaster7600 I ran the date stamp it's a 1969 so I need the forend cap no biggie there's a bunch of them on ebay. this gun is in pretty good shape for a 48 year old
  15. hopefully you read this buckmaster7600 I picked up the uncle mike's qd super swivels model #1441-2 [760 bb] but it doesn't fit tight enough. I tried squeezing it in the vise with no luck? any trick to installing it?
  16. they are hard to judge I shot one[bow] that weighed 280lbs. and one[bow] that barely weighed 90lbs. and the 90 pounder looked huge.i never hunted bears again maybe if i'm sure of the size and have my muzzleloader in my hand.
  17. there's a few on my property and they leave signs all over this guy was around in 2016 that's a spring bear his poop was everywhere.i didn't see him this spring but there was a smaller one that I watched rip up my shooting target then scratch his back on a tree. one even left scratches on a tree with my stand in it you can see the climbing stick on the left.
  18. it's legal once you get a small game license and bow stamp. not trying to discourage you but I've hunted long island state land for 30+ years and can count the rabbits I've seen on one hand and those where kicked up when I was walking in, but if you know someone with a farm it might be doable. here's a few links to get you started: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/40419.html http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7809.html you need to take a hunter safety course to get your license: http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/92267.html
  19. not to step on this post, but when I bought my property I was told you can't alter the water. there's a pond in the back and a stream up by my house I wanted to dig out a small pond in the stream.who would I call to find out if I can town, county or dec??
  20. I had 2 blunts,6 stars & 2 judo's if you want them shoot me an address. I'll never use them.
  21. If your shooting a 100gr. Head you can grind a 125gr. Fieldpoint down to 100gr. Flat(no tip) there called bloodgin's. I'm not sure if they sell them anymore, but they work the best for small game. Judi heads are best for clumps of grass. Blunts suck. The use to sell little stars that went behind the field point. If I remember I'll post a pic of all the small game heads later. as for stalking and shooting a bird on the ground with an arrow sounds pretty challenging to me.
  22. from the title I was expecting one of my co-workers. cool pics there so prehistoric
  23. I did it on long island for about 20yrs. I'm not sure if they still give out the patches every 5yrs. ,but I always thought it was fun to get them. If I remember correctly they use it as an average there's a lot of faults with it like you already mentioned seeing the same deer, some guys I know count every deer they see know matter where it is[roadside] and if you kill it they count it but have know idea it's gone. all in all it's a fun survey I don't hunt long island enough to do it anymore.
