You gain 45%, then you lose 25%. You're still up 20% but all you can focus on is the fact you just dropped 25%...until you gain another 10%...which puts you at 35%...,you're excited you just gain 10% even though it's still less than the 45% high. That the life of stocks I guess.

Yeah, I'm getting hosed. Just have to hold on at this point until planes can take off and ships can sail.

A fitting dumb move by the Dems. On top of that, many of BLM don't really identify themselves as African anymore. One of the doctors my wife works for is Nigerian. When she asked him about the riots he said he can't really relate because most of his youth, he grew up wealthy in Nigeria as a ruling majority.

Happy birthday!

pics on phones are usually only 2 to 4MBs so it doesn't take up that much space but a 1000 pics is still a lot to upload. Most places charge about 30 cents per picture so you're talking about roughly $300 for free!

Not so sure about "quickly". We're approaching 100 days of lock down. Countries that had a quicker response did it in 60 days.

Interesting. You link takes you to the general US Census Wikipedia page and not where the actual quote came from but I take your word for it. A person regardless of race or ethnicity is predisposed to crime or work ethic based on biology so it has to be social and/or environmental factors. Bottom line, over policing or under policing hasn't solved the problem, "it's their problem not mine" attitude isn't going to make it go away, and telling them to "suck it up" won't solve it either. Finding the root cause that branched out to all these issues will reveal the answer.

Yeah, I should have exited and went back in later. All my gains the last few days are erased. Still up 30+% overall for the year so can't complaint.

What made you sell before travel fully re-opened?

I don't disagree with those numbers. I'm just speculating that years of the Jim Crow area might have resulted in more families having two working parents among blacks earlier on. The lack of a guidance a home caused a lost of moral and family values. Children growing up in those household then are more likely to divorce.

Oh damn! Hope you get your account and finger all fixed up. We would miss your post dearly.

Angel's Share and Please Don't Tell are two I use to go to back in the day. Expensive though. Please Don't Tell you enter through a phone booth located inside Crif Dog's.

Valid point. How any of those single parents had two working parents and grandparents during the 60 and 70's? Low income families (which is more prominent of immigrants) are more likely to require both parents to work. Middle class hispanics in their native countries have some of the strongest family values. Lack of family values is not race dependent. Some social factors started the ball rolling that cause it to snowball into what it is today.

The main cause of that is due to women entering the workforce. There was no longer a parent at home. We traded moral compasses for money and production. Think of America would look like today if half the workforce was gone.

Cartoon logic. Tom and Jerry runs around naked all the time. Puts on full body swimsuit when they go to the beach. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was betting that companies may go bankrupt but not industries so I reviewed company’s past performances and financial records to try to predict which ones would be the last man standing amongst their group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it’s stupid as heck. But on a similar note, I had to explain this page here when I read the adventures of curious George to my son. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So if the mob comes to your street or town, what do yo do?
Elmo replied to ApexerER's topic in General Chit Chat
How many home invasions occur during the riots? It's businesses and random cars left in the streets. I kept the shotgun with military grade 00 buck on hand but I knew the odds of me actually needing it were slim to none. -
This is why it's volatile. Be careful. The stock is set to open above May 22 closing price of $2.84; after that close, the car rental company filed for bankruptcy. The company hasn't released any material news the past two sessions, while the stock shot up 8.8% on Thursday on volume of 268 million shares and ran up 71.3% on Friday on volume of 342 million shares. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment or information. Meanwhile, filings with the Security and Exchange Commission showed that Director Henry Keizer sold 7,438 shares of common stock on Thursday, Director Daniel Ninivaggi sold 3,000 shares on Friday and Joseph McPherson, Executive Vice President of North America Operations, recently sold 11,865 shares.

Seriously! Great find by @ncountry. Totally missed that one. Looks like it's not too late either. I might put a little in and thank ncountry for it.

Your record so far looks outstanding. Issue with putting a lot into an investment is you're less aggressive than if you're playing with house money. I was afraid to go into GUSH back when it was under $30 because it had a volatile record. Earning thousands is great but the prospect of losing tens of thousands is rough. (It's happened to me before and that has me gun shy.) I avoided anything that was already trending down even before the pandemic hit. I also didn't get back into trading until after I was placed on leave from work so I missed out on a lot of the lows. The only questionable one I went into was DraftKings which IPO'd a couple of months ago. I got in at $30. It jumped to $42. I was hoping the news of basketball returning would boost it even more but it didn't. Now it's back down to $38.
