Closed areas like indoor dining, bars, etc. Masks are down because you're eating/drinking and you're there for more than 10 minutes. People breath it out into the air, it lingers because of the lack of air circulation.

A little political and a lot of humor . .
Elmo replied to Enigma's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It's what makes this country great. Not just the freedom but because the very fact that having and hearing different views make us all grow as individuals. Challenges us to think more and change or build on our views and ideas. I argue with several people on this forum. More so now since I now have more time on my hands. But I will still share a laugh and a beer with anyone of them. Even if someone is anti 2A. Being anti 2A isn't the only thing that defines them just like there is so much more to me than just being pro 2A. The key is to being able to tolerate the differences and respect the similarities. -
Whether that rumor is true or not, that is more an indication of how they treated the mounting dead bodies (or dying bodies) than how they handled preventing the spread.

I don't know about you but when I have influenza, I don't go to work. I self isolate and take a bunch of meds. People die from it and I very well maybe the cause but I rest knowing I didn't go around breathing into everyone's face when I had it. With COVID, there are so many asymptomatic carriers and with an up to 14 day incubation period, it's advised that you proceed as if you are sick.

Put it this way. I see it as two likely outcomes. 1. In the end, we may find out that mask don't do anything and I'll be annoyed that I wore one like an idiot for several months. 2. In the end, we find out masks do indeed have an effect. I walk around with the guilt that I am directly responsible for several deaths. Of course knowing that they're most likely elderly and no one I know and most likely going to die anyway, who cares?

Except harsher penalties. The tracking is post re-opening. I take it no one actually watched the documentary.

I can't find the article and I'll admit that such research would be difficult since it would require several people to willingly get infected. Logically, if it only takes one particle and a particle can live for several hours, when if an infected person sneezed into the wind then half the easter sea board will all get infected.

Such as mandatory lock down and restricting travel to only essential workers within the city but not in the suburbs or country side? Nothing different from what they did in NYC. Only difference was the penalty was much harsher. The is they track people. When you enter a restaurant etc, you have to scan yourself in. Serves 2 functions. Reports to the restaurant if you've passed your most recent test to which they'll deny your entry. And mark your presence at the restaurant. This way the next time you're tested, if it comes back positive, they warn everyone that checked into the same location around the same time you did and have them tested as well. I don't see that flying over here.

I can't remember where I read the article as I read several but I believe it was around 5000 to 7000. A single breathe is roughly 900.

Long video but worth watching. Independent documentary of Wuhan after they've re-opened. In Japanese and Chinese so you'll have to read the subtitles. It's crazy the amount of testing they do and the precautions they take. But Almost no cases since they've re-opened.

You don't get infected y just one particle. It takes several particles. Sneezing in a closed area causes the particles to linger. Sneezing in open air causes the wind to dissipate the particles fairly quickly. A masks and clothes may not completely prevent particles from entering/exiting but it reduces the number of particles that are expelled. They estimate that standing next to someone who is infected and breathing the same air, it takes a little under 10 minutes for enough particles to transfer for a successful transmission. A mask would reduce the amount of particles and the distance it travels. I mean at this point the science and data is overwhelming. Yes, you can always find the one crack-head doctor or two to tell you otherwise but the majority of the doctors and scientist out there say masks can only help. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/getting-healthy-now/202004/coronavirus-the-importance-viral-load

I was looking for a dog and didn't want to pay breeder prices. Saw on online so I emailed them to see if it's still available and if I could drive out to see it. They had replied back that the dog in the listing had already been sold but that they had previously sold one to a lady who had gone to African on a missionary tour and the dog she bought was having a hard time dealing with the climate. She now wants to give it up to adoption and that he would try to put me in contact with her. I was like, ok sure. Two days later I get an email from a really random address. I mean instead of your usual [email protected], it was like [email protected]. That was the first flag. "She" asked me several questions regarding my "potential" as a good owner to her dog. I answered but red flag number 2 was the timeline. Based on the events of their stories, she had to have bought the dog and took it with her to Africa right at birth or within a week or two. Within the same day she replied back and her tone with something along the lines of "Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatevers. You're good. Dog is free but you need to pay for shipping." Red flag number 3. I decided to trace the header on the email and I was able to go back to a server in Compton California. Granted that might not be the origin of the email. It might have gone further back but it's tracks my have been blocked at that location. I highly doubt it though. So I stopped communicating with them. After a couple of days later, they emailed me again like "where's the money?". That's when I said "what? you want to play?" I emailed them back and apologized. Told them I've been really busy lately and that I haven't had time but I will try to do it soon. I then called the Internet Crime Bureau. I told the ICB what's going on and that I'm still stringing them along. They told me that #1, since I never actually sent any money, no crimes have been committed yet and #2, they don't deal with anything under $10K. So I said you mean basically if someone said they're going to kill me, I have to wait till they kill me first before I can report it? They said my analogy was harsh but pretty much, yeah. In the end, I emailed the crooks back and told them that I was on to them and I've already handed my findings over to LAPD (a lie but I wanted to mess with them) and that they should leave me along. Never heard from them again. My GF at the time was a bit devastated because she thought we were going to get a dog so I ended up going to a breeder and ended up paying breeder prices anyway.

Forgot what we were doing. I think we were trying to call coyotes or fishing or something but we were already in driving down from passing through the area. He asked if I mind waiting around for a bit so he could meet up with some random dude. I was like ok, It's later than I had wanted it to be and sprung it on me at the last minute but he already suckered me into it.

I'm still up for the year. Saying I'm way down from my +45% a month ago. I'm just saying I'm thinking of jumping out soon because I think there is going to be another big drop when states start reclosing. Don't want to be caught in it.
-
I'm way down from the high but I think I might have to jump out soon regardless of where it stands because if a second shut down happens, it's going to be bad.

This deserves cruel punishment
Elmo replied to Rattler's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
These people are not thinking so any form of punishment isn't going to deter them. Like @squirrelwhisperer said, only thing you can do is to prevent them from doing it again. -
Problem is right now the market is flooded with people looking for work and many companies are on a hiring freeze.

Yes they are. Countries stop testing because they've effectively flattened the curve. The number of test administers is based on the percentage of positive results. Those who low number of positive results don't need to test as much. As stated: "Some countries, like Australia, South Korea and Uruguay have a positive rate of less than 1% – it takes hundreds, or even thousands of tests to find one case in these countries." https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/full-list-cumulative-total-tests-per-thousand-bar-chart?country=AUS~AUT~BEL~CAN~DNK~EST~FIN~DEU~ISL~IND~ISR~ITA~JPN~NZL~NOR~RUS~SEN~SGP~ZAF~KOR~ESP~SWE~CHE~TWN~TUR~GBR~USA https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus-testing

It seem to have worked for all the other countries who didn't defy the suggestions.
