#1. Welcome to the forum. #2. Good golly! That buck's huge! #3. What is up with the insane hunting laws in NJ?
-
Long Island.

I thinking either fisher or gray fox.

Sorry, I don't have any other information on this. It actually isn't my picture. Someone posted this up on facebook and said it was rabbit tracks. I am pretty confident those are not rabbit tracks. Not raccoon either. I know what they are not but I can't figure out what they are.

What type of scope or was this iron sights?

Don't be no cloud on a sunny day, aye, boss man? Respect! -
Thanks, Defrazzle! Sounds like a great idea. Will definitely have to coordinate something.

Three Superbowl Commercials I Was Proud to See
Elmo replied to CharlieNY's topic in General Chit Chat
I like the God Made A Farmer commercial the best by far. The guy folding clothes in the laundry mat was funny. Dikembe Mutombo Geico commercial was also funny. I thought the Jamaican white guy Volkswagon commercial was funny too but a few people thought it was offensive. -
They even took it off their websites. When you go online, the only rimfires Gander has on their website is a WMR. A single WMR brand. If you go to Cabelas, the only rimfires listed are 17HMRs. Good thing I have enough to last me the whole year and then some but I just hope when things stablizes, it stablizes back to the way things were before.

Interesting. I went to Brooklyn Tech as well.

Black powder are not firearms until you plan to also have the powder and bullets as well. Then yes, it's a firearm.

Detroit is worst.

The anti's said having a police presence would make their kids grow up in a state of fear. Reminds the of the horrors out there. Yes. Maybe initially. But they'll eventually get use to seeing cops there. They'll also learn not to be afraid of cops instead of associating the presence of a police officer with a tragic event. I remember when I was a kid I remembered the neighborhood beat cop by his name and he knew mine. I would see him in the morning and say "good morning officer hughes" and he would tip his hat and say good morning to me. How bad is that? No, I didn't think there was a shoot out or a robbery must be taking place when I saw officer hughes. Heck, it was when I didn't see him for a couple of days when I tought something bad must have happened.

Anyone has any experience with teh H&R 20 gauge slug barrels? Looking for a shotgun that'll push out to 100 yards but don't want to spend the money on a Savage 220. Since I already have a H&R, I figure I can just buy a 20 gauge barrel for it. Can't get any accuracy out of my 12 gauge Mossberg's smooth bore barrel and she kicks like a mule! I'm willing to admit the recoil of the 12 gauge slug it the max I can handle. Wondering if the 20 gauge out of a H&R single shot will be less. I read on online some people think it's the same as a 12 gauge out of a regular shotgun since the H&R single shot is so light of a gun.

manlixer, have a well thought out plan when you go after that coyote. Too many failed attempts and you'll end up educating that coyote.

Update: Apparently one kid got "beef" with another kid which prompted the shooter to pull out a gun and shoot the victim. School has metal detectors but yet somehow this kid got the gun into the school. Now get this...the shooter was disarmed and apprehended by an off duty police officer who was at the school service as a resource officer. Funny how no one talks about that. http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/31/us/georgia-student-shot/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

Groundhog hunting in the southern 1/2 of NY
Elmo replied to Fur N Feathers's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Groundhogs/Woodchucks are open all year. Problem is 98% of the time, only place you'll find them is one someone's farm. Unless you know a farm owner or own a farm yourself, you can't hunt them consistently. -
As long as it meets the 600 fps minimum requirement.

I worked at the reptile house in The Bronx Zoo. I basically cleaned cages and feed the animals 90% of the time.

It was right after high school. It was the most fun I had at any job but the pay wasn't that great. To move up in position, I needed a college degree. Once I left for college, goals changed.
