Well, I can confirm this one had a squirrel for breakfast yesterday!

Not to derail, but I read this and the ever-growing fisher population has zero natural predators and is only taken by a short trapping season.

This pretty much sums up my experience with the Nikon Bolt XR. Spot on app is a piece of cake to use and matches up with my range results. Heck of a scope for the price and intended usage (deer hunting).

LW Alpha. Fairly lightweight and absolutely zero noise. Backpack straps are included, but you'll want to replace them.

Wow, those are some awesome bucks you guys harvested today! Wish I could join in the fun too, but my day was still awesome. I3 deer, 2 of which came right under my stand plus seeing a fisher score a squirrel breakfast! The deer moved mostly behind me and traveled in bunches which made for few shot opportunities. There was one 4 pt and another buck I couldn't fully identify in the fading light, but I'll gladly take a nice doe next time out for my first deer.

He came back down with a dead squirrel in his mouth, but I didn't get a pic. Coolest thing I've seen while hunting!

Activity has definitely picked up around here in 5R. With this cold front coming, it should be a glorious week to be in the woods.

I have spent a fair amount of time hiking in the ADK's. A map and compass are essentials; cell phone batteries can run down quickly. I hope this gent makes it out ok and that he didn't have a serious medical emergency.

You had to post that. That's just wrong! I like the idea of spicy hot ingredients inside with the sweet cooling affects of the BBQ sauce. Might have to make a couple, you know, for "research".

I've had a set of big buck tracks behind the house for 3 years now. This is the first pic that would seem to be the owner. Hopefully, we meet up this week.

My last two venison "Prime" burgers, made with backstrap, loin meat and bacon! Topped with aged cheddar on a multigrain roll. Paired with a Brooklyn Limited Chocolate Stout.

Prefer deer jerky, but happen to be out of that at the moment. Provides an energy boost on those long, cold sits and motivates me to keep hunting.

Not technically from the woods, but I managed to get all dressed up (skipped coffee because I was running behind) and one foot out the door before realizing that it was raining pretty steady out. Sleep depravation plus no coffee sucks!

Had a staring contest with a nice fat doe on the way in. Same time tomorrow and she's legal!

Kids on dirt bikes forced me in for lunch sooner than I planned. Refueling then back out to a new spot for the pm sit.
