I agree, but we will have to wait and see what happens with all of them. Did any of the rejections from the other case (the one that ended up striking down the 7 round part) ever go to the court of appeals? I dont remember seeing anything about that. -

Remember, this is not the only case that is currently ongoing with regards to the safe act. It is also not done with, as this case is being taken to the court of appeals. We do need to vote these people out though. -
I agree, 2 1/2 or 3 1/2, tough to tell from that picture. Id like to see the shoulder and neck/chest areas. Should be bigger this year though.

So I am looking into buying an ATV this year. It will most likely be something in the 500+cc range. What I am looking for info on is using it for doing some food plot work. I know I dont want a belt driven machine, like the Polaris Sportsman (love those things, great ride, but I dont want belt drive). What are you guys using to do plots? It will probably see some discing, spraying, seeding, cultipacking use. We have a tractor that we use for most ground breaking, and soon to be tilling, etc. Ill also be using the wheeler for plowing the driveway, hauling deer, etc, which any ATV in the size range I am looking into is more than capable of. So far I am really looking at the Honda Foreman/Rubicon.

LMAO Ive been served! -
Just because NY state probably isnt including it with the bowhunter safety course (which I dont necessarily agree with, plus we dont really know for sure what the exact regs will be yet), doesnt make it any less of a piece of archery equipment. As far as the regs go, the freaking budget was just passed, the state laws just changed, give them some time to get the regs written out. Do you want them to rush things through and make a mess out of it, or do you want them to write them up correctly. Besides, they wont go into effect until the 2014-2015 season, so theres no urgency for them to get them done right now. Im sure you realize that though, you just need something to whine and cry about.

Ill try to explain why many hunters have a problem with penned deer "hunts", and you can take it however you want to. Whitetail deer are a native species, and in the wild they do not typically grow massive sized racks like you find in a penned environment. The genetic manipulation of the species is a huge, huge turn off to many people, and not just hunters. Alot of these deer growing 200" racks as 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 year old animals almost start to lose many of the characteristics of their wild relatives. Also, you can go out to public land, or nearby land and hunt them in most places in the US. Many people have an issue with calling it hunting when you are killing hand raised farm animals, with little to no fear of humans. Now exotic, non native species that are killed in a penned environment are not as big of a deal to many, because realistically, that might be the only place someone ever has a chance to see those animals in real life, let alone have the opportunity to harvest one. Im not saying its not a contradiction, Im just trying to explain the difference that I have noticed from many people on the subject. Sorry for going off topic, back to the stack of yotes.... -
Its only confusing if you either cant read properly, or dont read all of the information in the releases. How is anything I said untrue? Crossbows are now legal hunting implememnts according to the state of NY. Thats a FACT. Dont like it? Too bad. Just because NY will most likely add the crossbow curriculum to the regular safety course, means nothing as far as what kind of a weapon it is. Keep on grasping at straws though. Your side lost. Deal with it.
-
Nobody has put out any misinformation on anything yet, at least that Ive seen. The fact is, crossbows are now a legal hunting implement in this state. Thats all so far, seasons and general regulations just havent been set yet. Its all been put out there pretty clearly, its just that some people dont understand the exact situation right now, for various reasons. How is that the fault of the state or this site? Hell, baiting is, and has been illegal in NY for quite some time, and some people do it anyway, some of those people dont know that its illegal to do any time of the year. Is it the state's fault?
-
Its actually not much of a list of facts, its incredibly incomplete and biased, which makes it more opinion than anything. Oh, and its posted on a lobbyist group's website, but somehow the NYB thing is better? Gottcha. Nice way to complete your lack of a real rebuttal with a personal shot. Typical....
