  1. Yep. Here ya go. It wasn’t inexpensive, I caught It on sale for $3600 with the tower. Setup took about 6-7 hours with a buddy helping. Standing it up took my tractor and a 60ft long heavy strap along with some ingenuity. You could also do it with an ATV and a winch. I also grabbed a buddy heater heater and the curtain kit for it Its a lot of money, but the quality is top notch, and it should last for a very long time with minimal maintenance. Buy once cry once.
  2. Up in the tower with Evan this morning. We have our thermos of hot chocolate and plenty of snacks. Snow has melted a lot up here. Saw some very large fresh tracks on the way in. They were on the same basic trail that the buck I nicked Last week was on. Let’s see what happens.
  3. Woke up to -2 degrees this morning. Went back to bed. First thanksgiving that I havent Gone out. Good luck to those of you that are out there.
  4. Yeah I know I did Everything I could Doesn’t help the second guessing and sting though. Up the ass shots make a mess. I should Have just done it but I thought I could Get a clean shot easily.
  5. Just got home a bit ago. This morning my BIL and I headed Out at sunrise. We got to the spot where the buck crossed the road and started sneaking in. About 150 yards in, my BIL says “there he is” and I looked Up just as he stood up from his bed. I btought My gun up and all I had Was a straight away ass shot. I moved To my left to try for a better angle and he started stepping forward. I raised My gun and fired and nailed a tree. I racked Another round and he started trotting, took a shot and missed again. We gave him a few and then went to look at his bed. Thrash marks and yote prints all over. No fresh blood though. We started tracking him and found no blood. We jumped him 2 more times in a couple of miles before the snow started coming down and we lost his trail. I’m just sick and pissed right now at all of the things that went wrong in the last 26 hours. I’m taking the rest of today off to rest up and wash all of my sweaty clothes and reorganize my gear. My kids come home tonight for the rest of the week. I’ll have Haley out tomorrow.
  6. https://www.atncorp.com/x-sight2-hd-day-night-rifle-scope-3-14x ive messed with it a little. It does pretty well in the dark from what I’ve seen so far. Haven’t had time to sight it in or anything.
  7. Exactly what I’m thinking. He lost a ton of blood today and was very weak when we saw him in the ravine. That’s why I didnt Want to push it anymore. Hopefully I can Sneak in tomorrow morning and either find him dead or kill him in his bed.
  8. There are but I’m exhausted and we pushed him a lot all day. No need to get antsy now.
  9. Here’s one of his beds. This was one of 8 beds. We found about 35 to 40 places where he fell down and bled even more than this. The blood goes down 3+ inches into the snow in the beds.
  10. Thanks. No not gut. If you look close you can see it’s in the front, probably hit him a little forward and single lung. It’s bleeding out of both sides.
  11. Last update for the night. I got Permission from the landowner to continue the track. He has a large property and allows no hunting, so my buck should be safe from people in there. We pushed him a long way today and after watching him in the ravine, I really Think he’s gonna lay up and die if we leave him be. It’s gonna be a sleepless night, but I’ll be back after him in the morning.
  12. Just got home. Tracked him for a mile and a half and caught up with him. Took a shot but didn’t connect. He crossed a road and headed into more thick shit. I coulnt Go anymore so we backed off. Gonna try getting ahold of the land owner and get after him in the morning. I got it a great look at him. It’s not the 8, it’s the big 10. I have No trail cam pics of him that I know Of but people around here know him. He’s in real bad shape. Could run a little but was hardly walking. Track showed him falling down every hundred feet or so. He’s still bleeding heavily. I cant Believe he’s not dead with how much blood loss there’s been.
