  1. Im with ya, his mounts dont look that good. The skulls look fine though.
  2. I dont remember if Brian Pragle does beetles or not. He did a euro for me a few years back and it turned out nice. Give Mike a shout, he would probably know.
  3. Probably, but its bad management.
  4. My buddy came over and hunted at my place yesterday. He was 150 yards away from Haley and I, in a great stand, but not the one I suggested because of the wind. He went there because of past trail cam pics I showed him. He saw nothing. Haley and I saw no less than 10 deer. If he would have hunted one of the other stands that I told him that he should sit in, he would have had deer walking right under the stand.
  5. Sorry, but I cant count it without all of the requirements being fulfilled
  6. Yep. Im actually getting to the point where I think that those of us that dont do it are probably the minority.
  7. Horton didnt go out of business, they were bought by TenPoint.
  8. I saw some the other day at Wally for $5 a bag. The shelf was damn near cleaned out. Runnings had a sale on blocks of "Hickory Rage", and the table didnt have many left on it. The stuff is used by more people than many would think. A few local farmers that I know of make more money selling individual bags of corn to guys around this time of year than they do selling it in bulk. They have a hard time keeping up with the demand sometimes.
  9. Bacon jalapeño Poutine for me tonight! A nice Crown and cider to go with it.
  10. Haley and I ended Up seeing a bunch of deer, just nothing in range. On to gun season!
  11. Just had 2 doe come in, they stayed in the thick stuff for a bit and then left. Started hearing single gun shots from different places not long ago.
  12. Yeah. The tractor helped a lot but it could be done with an atv and winch.
  13. Great views out of this. It’s sitting on the edge of one of the plots with hard woods on the left and a thicker behind us.
  14. It has 3 foot rebar spikes in each corner and a 2 foot auger in the middle with a 1/2” steel cable and a turnbuckle.
  15. A few weeks ago, I pulled The trigger on a Redneck 6x6 Buck Palace 360 and the 15 foot tower. Getting it in place and together was a bit of a project. Actually more of one than I thought It would be. I got My tractor buried in the mud getting the blind to the back of the property, plus 2 other times standing the thing up. Yesterday morning I finished Things up with it, and let me tell you, it was worth it. We are going to get so spoiled hunting out of this thing. I’ll take some pics of how it looks from up there this afternoon. I’m gonna go sit in it for the evening with Haley for one last archery hunt of the season. I’m really looking forward to the gun opener next weekend.
  16. There ya go! Guess what? I agree With ya!
  17. How can you do any real deer management if you are giving people a doe tag that they can use anywhere in the state? There are lots of areas where the population is low that can’t take the doe harvests. Currently, the state already hands out doe tags that you can use anywhere, it’s the either sex tag you get for bow and muzzleloader season. They really should do away with that. Also, QDM needs to be done on a much smaller scale as far as area is concerned. It would not be feasible on a WMU sized area. Study up on what real QDM consists of and you’ll see what I mean
  18. Biologically, a buck is not mature until he hits 5 years old. Thats when his skeletal structure is done developing. After that, its body can put more energy toward antler development than it could before, which is why most bucks "blow up" at 5.5 and 6.5 years old.
