  1. Just got in my stand. A little drizzle coming down but not bad so far. Scrapes are torn up all over back here. Gonna sit as long as I can, 30+ mph winds predicted for this evening. Hopefully they hold off. Good Luck all!
  2. I wouldnt go and get any from that store if they were giving them away for free.
  3. I was really looking forward to this bow season, and then things took a turn for my fathers health, and he ended up passing away on Oct 1st. For the next week, I had so much going on that I couldnt get out at all, not that I was really feeling like it. The week after that I went back to work and was completely swamped , so no time to get out. Oct 13th, my girlfriends father passed away. We had alot to get taken care of that weekend and week, so no hunting. I finally got out for an afternoon on Oct 20, and was chased out of the stand by a downpour and whipping winds. This season has been a complete bust for me so far. Hopefully things change starting this weekend.
  4. I was trying to make it look like I was gonna eat him (its a button). I cant even remember how many damn pics I took to try and get it close lol
  5. On my cams, I use cable locks, so I still have something running around the tree, though they are less obvious than a strap. From a bit of a distance, it looks kinda like a vine. The main reason I use them is because in 95% of situations, I mount my cams 6-7 feet up or higher, and angle them down. Trying to get the angle right is a real pain with most cams if I use a strap. I do have a cam or two with an adjustable bracket built into them, but they arent as adjustable as these mounts are. I run 14 cams, all with these mounts. I know quite a few guys that run far more cams than I do.
  6. A lot of hardware and work? Not really. They generally cost less than $5 each to make, and about 30 seconds to put together. I’ve been making and using mounts like this for a few years now. Straps are ok, but can be hard to get a good angle on the cam, especially if you mount them high, and they hold scent more than a few bolts do.
  7. My insulated rubber boots do great in super cold weather, I just wear heavier wool socks with them. I will never go back to these type of hunting boots again. I have a few pair of new condition Rockys sitting in a tub that I havent worn in years.
  8. Might not make a bad pair of winter work boots for that price. I only wear tall rubber boots for hunting.
  9. Same here. I let them soak for at least an hour, then add soap and scrub with a stiff bristled brush. Knocks all of the stuff off nicely.
  10. The stuff nightmares are made of...
  11. I have one. Used it for one season and no longer bother with it.
  12. I wouldnt call a 20% chance of rain for a couple of hours a turn for the worse. All weekend is still looking great.
  13. I just picked up a Redneck 15' tower stand. It comes with rebar spikes for each leg, and a large auger that screws into the ground 2 feet. Once you turn the auger in, theres a steel cable that goes from the platform to that, which anchors it.
  14. I used to watch the NFL, but lost interest in in it quite a few years ago. The only sport I watch anymore is hockey.
  15. And if thats the case, hes going to find himself unable to log in again.
  16. A trail is not a road. Who cares if he shot over it, down it, at it, or anything else as long as hes being safe. Calling him a scumbag just isnt right. I also saw a comment about "you know he isnt the landowner" of the private land that borders the trail. How the hell do you know that? Maybe he is. People need to learn to mind their own damn business. Unbelievable.
  17. If this doesn’t sell soon I’ll take it over to the farm. It would get signal there. I have a spypoint link w there now.
  18. Some Verizon but it’s spotty. I can Do a bunch of Cuddelinks and have a base station right at my house and check cards anytime without going back into the woods.
  19. Yeah its a bummer. Ill be going with a Cuddelink setup.
  20. Scent free clothes wash and drier sheets for me. Scent killer spray before I head to the woods. Last year I tried some "earth scent" spray and got busted everytime in similar conditions that I had not been busted before. I have also tried those cover scent wafers in the past with similar results to the spray I tried last year.
