Nice Eddie, Ive been looking at getting an electric winch to put out in my shop instead of the HME rope winch ever since you described the setup a while back. I figure Ill keep the HME rope setup around just in case I get two deer to cut up.

Yes, he said that about the main peak of the rut, aka the breeding phase. He said that there would be some light early rut activity as well, known as a trickle rut. Dont cherry pick. I know that you have the perception that you are the end all be all because you write for the Wellsville newspaper, but I have yet to see one single documented study that you produced (please dont point me to one of your newspaper columns or youtube videos). I have however seen a study that has been ongoing and well documented come from the team of Alsheimer and Laroche. This years rut may just well show the proof of whether or not his moon phase theory is right or not. I am not saying that he will be right or you will be wrong, but if you are going to attack his prediction, attack it as a whole instead of cherry picked comments from it.

My bow shoots pretty well with either BHs or field points. I also have lots of old arrows laying around that I don't care about. I'm not slinging arrows at squirrels in trees either. Only on the ground.

Im very comfortable out to 30 as long as I dont get the fever and rush the shot. I practice out to 45, and do well at 40, but it would have to be the right situation to take anything over 30 or 35.

Sorry, I am so used to doing that stuff I forget not everybody knows. Here ya go... 1 - Download Rkill and save on your desktop 2 - Download Malwarebytes, install and update (if the spyware lets you) 3 - Reboot PC 4 - When PC starts powering back up, begin pressing F8 repeatedly until the boot choices menu comes up 5 - Select 'Safe Mode with Networking' 6 - Once you are at your desktop, run Rkill 3 to 4 times in a row (it will bring up a text file when it is done each time) 7 - If you couldnt install Malwarebytes before, do that now and run updates 8 - Disable System Restore (right click on My Computer Icon, choose Properties, then go to the System Restore tab and uncheck the box) 9 - Run full scan of Malwarebytes 10 - Remove all detected items and let it reboot 11 - Enable system restore once computer is booted back up That should be it.

If you listened to what Alsheimer said on the episode of D&DH where he made the prediction, he actually said that there would be early rutting activity, but that the main, heavy part of the chasing and then breeding phase would come along in November. He predicted there would be a trickle rut this year, not that the rut would hold off until Thanksgiving. That may or may not be a good thing because it equals out to alot more deer being killed in guin season.

Usually I hunt alone, sometimes with friends, and I have a few groups that I hunt with a couple times a year. I didnt take the poll because Id have to choose more than one.
