  1. Low deer populations in those areas. All the space in the world though. My brother was stationed there and I have family in the Alex Bay area. I'll talk to them and send you a pm. Great fishing in the summer!
  2. Please read up on Hope Solo before giving her statements to much credit. Her arrest and her multiple wacky statements on various things. I also off the top of my memory remember her being dismissed from the National team.
  3. Smoked baby back ribs for 7 hours at 215% they were fall of the bone, apple and hickory smoke was perfect.
  4. Boothbay. We stay in town, I think for the last six years (3 days each year). Eat, drink, sight see, and fished the Kennenback River for strippers last year.
  5. On one hand this looks beyond amazing. On the other I'm in tears thinking my annual trip to Maine might not workout.
  6. Harden means if the plant has been indoors since germination it should slowly be introduced to outdoor conditions. I've been bringing mine out for a couple hours the last three days, tomorrow I'll put them out for 6 hours and see how they handle it. To me that looks like what happened or wind burn.
  7. These are about ready just another day or so to harden them off. I definitely have some with root rot which sucks but not bad so far for my first attempt from seed. Assorted peppers and eggplant. Melons, brussel sprouts and other stuff have another couple weeks before they go out.
  8. Couldn't be cooked any better, looks great.
  9. Clover now but brassicas kinda depends on your goal and where your at (in 5H I have the best luck July 1-15) 3m I think you could get away with mid August just as an example. Grains anywhere from late August to early mid September. Like Land said rye will grow almost with no tillage and little sun. You can always top a clover plot with rye or wheat.
  10. Beets and greens are tiny seeds as are clover so I say no. I would spray glyo at double the recommended rate and spread seed the same day. For clover now for brassicas late July early August.
  11. Moog, I wish your family the best as so many others already have.
  12. First two pictures are WTI extreme which was mowed down my deer in October four months after planting. Next two are beets and greens.
  13. FarmWorks Grass & Weed Killer 41% Glyphosate to kill weeds. If your ph is low don't try the clover or fusion. They have a product called whitetail extreme that is a chicory clover blend for low ph. If your ph is 6.0 or above fusion or straight clover is a superior draw without a doubt. Sounds like your aiming for a "transition" plot which I think is a great idea. I wouldn't mess with the no plow mix or anything grain based. Go to your local ag supply and you will get way way way more bang for your buck as far as cereal rye or wheat. Winter greens is great for late season if it lasts but I think their beets and greens is much better and the same price. Also the tubers will help your soil more then the winter greens which is mainly rape and kale. If you decide on clover get it in the ground asap because it takes a while to draw deer. But man that sounds like a great setup if you can get some logging roads planted that are between bedding and a hay field. If it were me I would try winter greens or beets and greens this year and overseed with rye or wheat in September, then next year plant a clover plot. I shot my buck September 29th over a radish plot so the false information about brassicas only being a draw after a frost is false.
  14. Has anyone prepared it with any success? Over the last few days it has been showing up all over my property.
  15. You guys kill me with these wings. Looks amazing
  16. Pasta fagioli, chicken cutlets and (grilled salmon) not in the picture.
  17. Just a man and his mower. I have a lot of work to do after the excavator tore up the lawn. New house, new garden, new patio, equals a lot of damn work during the apocalypse. I have an offer to slam some bass on a private lake but tomorrow is a lawn/garden day. I had fun on my new mower today, I'm 34 and have never touched a riding or zero turn mower, my mom always put my ass to work with our push mower. After that there was no mower needed in Delaware or Hawaii. These riding mowers are fun! Even has a beer holder.
  18. I'm in Mt Hope. I'm sure you would no the spot, send me a message and drop me off some off those rubs.
  19. Pictures don't do justice. Best brisket I've ever made and better then all the famous spots in Nashville. Sous vide 4 pound brisket for 48 hours at 135 degrees. After that I smoked it with hickory at 215 for another four hours. That was last night, I bought some buns today for lunch and added sticky fingers bbq sauce with swiss cheese for the win. I already have a large smoker but I got this at Lowes in Middletown for $100, I wasn't looking for a smoker but it was a display model after I talked to the manager it went from $200 to $100.
  20. I agree. I bought a 70" Vizio D series for $600 around Christmas time at Sam's Club. I have a buddy who spent over 2k on a Samsung and I like mine better. Read reviews and you will find what you like, some are better for sports, gaming and some are better for movies. This website should give you something to do if your bored and help find exactly what is best for you. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/vizio-d-series-4k-2018-vs-vizio-v-series-2019/610/765
  21. I was doing some still hunting in 5H two years ago and saw a fisher the same size. He was on the move clearly hunting something. I was 60-70 yards away and at first I was sure by the size and noise it was a cub. First and only I've ever seen.
  22. Picked these last year at my cabin. They showed up randomly by the log splitter and a clover plot. Tasted awesome and grew in large easy to pick patches but very small.(Strawberries)
  23. Tonight should be last time we see 30's in Orange County. I'll start planting tomorrow, just a couple plants at a time. Farmers almanac has planting dates for your area just type in your zip.
