    I would go with the Remington, put it a good stock and drop in a Timney.

    There's deer around, just not like it used to be, I can't believe people pay to hunt there. My buddy leases his farm out the first week of November for like 5K, they shot a small 9pt, small, that area east of Danville is shot out. They killed all the deer by my house too, absolute pigs.

    Nah, one guy in our group shot a doe, and another shot a 1.5 year old buck. We actually saw a few deer, saw a couple last year, but 2-3 years ago we didn't see anything. That area is shot out. The amish moved in about 10 years ago and it's almost completely shot out, I just go for the party, it's really sad.

    It's not just pubic land that you'll have problems with other hunter's. If your buddies bring their buddies or their kid's, that also can lead to problems with your plans.

    I would buy a Remington 700 action or a clone, a Criterion Remage barrel, Bell and Carlson stock, Jewel trigger. The scope would be determined by the caliber I chose, then I would have a custom rifle I built myself. What could go wrong?
