Why post political stuff?
Northcountryman replied to Grouse's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I'm confused- what part of his post (I'm assuming your referring to Grouses when I say this, btw) was demeaning? Not that he cant be-as many are on here- from time-to-time, but where in this particular instance, I'm wondering? He's just ,very generally, stating that many adopt a point of view based on a preconceived narrative theyve adopted and , rather than search for the truth, instead look for evidence to validate their belief system (At least, thats the way i interpret his comments lol). -

Yes, and it applies to both sides, of course. -

Who doesnt support reasonable pro-enviornmental legislation? I think nearly everyone on both sides of the political spectrum does; where they differ is in what constitutes "reasonable" and "prudent". -

If you and Grouse actually met and had a substantive discussion, Im sure you could fnd some common ground on certain issues and agree to disagree on others. I mean, hell, we know you both have at least one thing in common: you like to hunt, right!! -

Well, Im not sure who you are referring to when you suggest anyone on here models the caricature youve described; in fact, i've never heard anyone else make this assertion but you. I'm sure this isnt your backhanded way of suggesting that they are inextricably linked, correct? -

I unequivocally and emphatically refute your contention that anyone, simply by being politically affiliated any particular political party and/or ideology, could accurately be so labelled- I mean, isnt that a form of bias at its very core? Your description could easily describe countless individuals of both major political ideologies and has nothing to do with the ideology , in and of itself. -
Im wearing long johns sprayed w/ Repellent year round now because of them. Theyll attach but they cant get to your skin. As soon as I get home, throw em in the dryer cuz heats supposed to kill em.

No , her opinions and positions were undermining the party- simple as that. Regarding the election stuff , Nothing has been proven false yet. Conversely , nothing has been proven as true yet either so , when discussing this , I try to be careful how I characterize my contentions . I say I believe that there was fraud and have seen some evidence supporting that point of view , but I don’t know it . BTW - do you remember what the Democrats did to Bernie in the past 2 elections ? Fealty to their fave candidate appears to be quite into to the Democrats as well IMHO . -

Accepting the new President - which I I have done , albeit grudgingly - Does not equate to believing that some serious election Irregularities occurred last time around which may have affected the outcome. Be that as it may , What does that have To do with the topic of discussion , Liz Cheney , and her removal from leadership in the Republican Party? She was removed because the majority of members (who are her constituents, mind you)agreed that Her leadership ( due to her stance on key issues related to the former Prez) no longer Accurately reflected their own , majority wise . What’s wrong with that ? Are you hoping that she will now join the Democrats due to this snub? I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting. Also , Back to the election stuff, your characterization of anyone who believes that election fraud occurred last time as needing to “ grow up” , well... that attitude is part of the problem in politics today in this country and is Precisely why we can’t get anything done. -

Figures, just look at all the anti Asian incidents happening in the city currently - are any of them white perps? None that I’ve seen - all black males , mostly in their 20s - 30s . Media won’t talk about that , though ( well , except FOX) , cuz It doesn’t fit the racist white people narrative . -
Woke up this am and, as always, scanned the headlines on my phones news feed - what I saw made my jaw drop. Apparently , many liberals took to Twitter After the rebuttal speech made by Senator Tim Scott ( R) SC . Scott, a conservative and the only African American in the Senate , was pilloried for his criticism of Biden’s proposals outlined in his address; in their tweets , many of them referred to Scott as “ Uncle Tim” . I was Totally mortified - how could Twitter allow the use of a clear and blatant racially charged epithet to be used - on its platform- in reference to a black man?! Outrageous the double standard that is blatant and obvious to anyone who is objective . This is allowed whereas Conservative users are reprimanded , some even removed from the platform for violating their policies against using racially charged language ? In my view , ALL Americans , regardless of political ideology should be outraged and deeply troubled by the blatant bias Evidenced here ; more importantly , however , in how Senator Scott is being treated by those who purport to be against racism and constantly accuse the right of being racist . Really ? I guess he’s not black enough or something ? Wow!! Last week, a member on here posted a meme that was mildly racist - I think that, in retrospect , it was harmless and he just meant it to be funny , but nevertheless , a number of us called him out on it. And This is how it should be . Let’s see if our liberal brethren are equally outraged by clear and blatant bias Evident here .

Well, i wasnt talking about that- I was referring to the anti-Reagan message on the bottom of your post. When I first opened it, I didnt see the pics of your gun, so i thought they were links to an article or something about Reagan and Beirut. Pics are cool though, I definitely like that !! -

First of all, I dont even know if this is an accurate account, but more importantly, Why are you bringing this up now? That was a LONG time ago, almost 40 yrs. IMHO, Reagan was a great President and a tremendous leader- sure wish we had him now!! -
