    well planted oats wednesday and the soil was damp, according to radar got some rain yesterday and this morning so should be off to a good start with the oats. now got to go back monday re-plant failed plot in rye mixed with oats and hope for the best finger crossed the really dry spell is behind us

    so they go to college to get well paying jobs yet that cant pay for loans and if they take some stupid major with no jobs then it there stupid fault,,, unreal i have no college degree got a decent civil service job at 21 middle class life style finally almost 100% debt free , yet now my tax dollars will pay for some one else college, and ive never made 125, 000 in ayear ugh

    i hit a deer once with the truck it ran off but some how when i cam to a stop ,, i stopped right on its tail it was still under the tire when i checked the damage

    yup thats were my should be but i got half the growth,,,,and i got rock i /poor soil

    germination on brassicas with rain 5 to 7 days,,, and yup week 2 to 4 is the time something may go wrong like my one plot gerinated then drought for 23 days....

    Rob i think u will be ok the failure i had was on top of hill / not quite a mtn lol, very dry and full sun all day and water runs off it my lower plots were like i said ok, and i got less rain where i was so u should be ok good luck

    well checked on plots not great , one is a total lose anything that germanted dried up and died, other ones are hanging in there a little stunted from where they should be but they should bounce back with recent rain the other one will get replanted in rye oats mix .. did 3 smal areas in oats today

    most times not needed but u go in the big woods of adks or large tracts , a phone and battery operated stuff is great but always have a compass,, getting turned around in smaller tracts is one thing but being truley lost where u can walks 10's of miles with no road is another

    checking my plots wednesday hoping the young sprouts didnt die went a long time with no rain but im guessing they will be ok.

    thats the very basic use of a compass, but depending on the area of the ADKs you in still can be many many miles from ur truck or camp

    dont think its rained in almost 2 weeks at camp keep missing the down pours by less then a mile

    yeah EHD dosnt have to do with population its a midge that infects deerthat is how the deer get it they dont spread it to each other....

    basically work about 4 days in nov the rest is spent at camp....couple days off in dec

    rob those brassicas? Good germination great job , not for nothing and just my two cents and errors ive made in past if they are brassicas might be little close i learned this the hard way in a perfect world one plant every 3 to 5 in.... Hardest thing for me is dont over seed brassicas ,,, now grains or clovers they dont mind to much seed

    well checked on mine today dosent appear i got a lot of rain but everything seem to germinate very good

    man watering a plot would be tons of work,,, but im guessing would do the trick so far ive lucked out been keeping close eye on radar since i planted last week looks like it rained several times headed down tmrw...

    nope but I saw it all backed up........next week got to spray two small plots get them ready for my grain to plant end of month....

    i was just south of your property in the viallage at 5pm down poured for like 30mins.
