Congrats to all those that have put tags on some so far this gun season.

It was a pleasure. Hopefully next year we can make it happen again. Had a blast hunting with you. I'll pass the message along to my wife about the chili.

So if you are taking a stand it can't damage any tree. Yes you can leave it but I believe it may need your name and contact info. Also if you are taking a hang on setup take the bottom 2 sticks with you. If you are leaving it over night I wouldn't worry about leaving your info on it. But do suggest taking the bottom sticks with you. I do that quite often. If I know I'll be back in the morning I just leave the stand

Tally as of right now for the weekend. 6 hunters 4 on stateland we ended up with 2 bucks,1 coyote and 1 miss on a big 6 or 8. 37 deer spotted between us all 32 or 33 just from @REDNECK4LIFE32. The 2 on private saw 4 or 5 deer 1 being a buck and nephew missed a doe. One of our better opening weekends we've had in awhile.

Quiet here so far. Did see 2 deer walking in. They let you walk right past them at 20 yards never spooked

Up getting ready. Going back to where I shot my buck yesterday to mainly pull my stand. Hoping one of the local bears want to check out my gut pile or some coyotes

Still have atleast 1 more morning to get it done. There's a bunch of bucks left on that hill. Hopefully one makes a mistake tomorrow am.

By far my biggest buck. Shot in my little honey hole on stateland. I saw him at 150yards trotting with his nose to the ground. Had to grunt at him 10times until he stopped and then through a snort wheeze at him. That's all it took. He came into 80yards. The wind was at his face but he was looking for a fight. He turned and I pulled the trigger. I honestly thought I missed because i had a paper plate size hole to shoot through. Well it hit the mark he went about 25yrds. Best part was 5 guys showed up to drag. One jumped out of his stand when he heard me yelling in excitement and came running. 8pt, 15 3/4 spread g2s are both 10inches. I'm guessing his weight to be 160-190 he has a big body.

Sounds like @REDNECK4LIFE32 has been on deer all day hoping to get a phone for some dragging.

Well that was a quick gun tag. My little honey hole on Stateland. He's my 3rd 8 in 4 years out of this spot. Still can't believe I shot him. I thought I missed because I had a small paper plate hole to shoot through. He didn't make it 25 yards quartering way 80yrds. Biggest buck buy far. Very lucky to have the friends. 5 stopped their hunts to show up and help. Some I've know for 25yrs and a new one I've got to know the last couple weeks @REDNECK4LIFE32. My nephew showed up as well. My favorite picture is of my friends all around in the truck picture and them helping getting him strapped to the cart. Really couldn't do it without them. Thing was a mile deep and everyone helped drag. Waiting for a phone call from others to go help drag.

Just got back from the chili dinner. Getting kids to bed and finish my gear. I'm exhausted so I should actually sleep for once before opener.

No just ordered it took the old one off and the new one matched up perfect.

Thanks. Came with a different stock that I used for years and always wanted a thumb hole stock. Went on boyds stocks and picked up stock and forearm for 120 3 yrs ago.

That's a wrap on my archery season I will bring the bow back out during regular season if I have a tag left after this weekend. The rest of the day will be spent going to lunch and getting food ready for my chili dinner. I didn't see anything but I'll let @REDNECK4LIFE32 talk about his morning.
