I agree but just makes us all look bad when big names like that are doing this stuff.

Looks like the Bowmars have a laundry list of charges against them. Guess we will see how this one plays out. https://gearjunkie.com/bowmars-poaching-case

Seems like the last 2 years around Halloween was awesome hunting again. I expect a ton more going down next weekend during crossbow opener. -

Congrats to everyone that got one so far today. We had success in my group again. Brother had a doe come in he and took his first deer with a bow ever. Went 20 yards after the shot. He did see a big buck running a doe at first light. Wont post his face because I didn't ask.- 8220 replies

Congrats on the buck. Made up for last year real quick. Cant wait to here the story. -
I mainly hunt stateland. I dont know this piece but I always tell people if you are on a piece that's 1000 acres theres going to be pockets of that piece from 20-60 maybe 100 that will hold deer all the time. Doesn't matter if it's a ton of pressure or none they will favor some spots more. If theres a ton of hunters you need to figure out where they are going. If they hunt close to the road go in deeper if they are going deeper hunt closer to the road. Deer lay down enough sign to know where they are at but if your in a low density spot like the adirondacks your going to have to work harder than most in the state to find good spots and deer.

Welcome and it takes time dont expect to see something every sit. You can have a great piece of private and still not see any. Look for sign and pinch points. Bucks are laying down a ton of sign right now. Just keep at it and dont give it. Good luck

Not live from the woods but shot my bow this morning to make sure it was me and not my bow with the high hit yesterday. Well at 20 yards I was 4 inches high and an inch or 2 to the right and at 30 I was still a little high but 4 inches left. Must of bumped my sights some point. Glad I got my buck but I will need to make sure I shoot a little more often making sure nothing gets moved going in and out of the places I hunt. -
I would say that is a drop tine and a stud buck. Zoom in looks like a kicker off that one tine also on the same side.

what a shit show this morning. made my way 1.5 miles to the area i wanted to hunt. well I've only been in there 3 times now in the dark so i missed my tree and had to walk back across the ridge to get to my stand. once i finally found it i was frustrated with myself for putting down so much ground scent and got my stuff ready and went up the pre hung stand. got onto the platform(i know I should've been tied off going up) went to put on my safety strap and it wasn't around my chest it was back at my truck. At this point i was pretty upset with myself so i collected myself went back down the tree and made my way 30 yards down the ridge to where there was a blow down and got myself ready. At this point its almost 710 I'm pissed that I left my safety strap, soaked from the snow and sweat and felt that the day was a bust. 730 i decided to do a grunting sequence to maybe draw something in before I froze. Within 5 minutes i look up and see a big 8 walking across the top of the ridge. Ears pinned back looking for a fight. I new the path he was on so i found a hole at 20 yards he had to get to. As he approaches I draw my bow he is 3 steps from the hole when he stops. His nose and tips of his tines are in my shooting lane and then the wind shifts right at him and off he goes. Realizing he didn't completely freak I waited 20 minutes and decided to rattle and grunt to see if I could draw him back. Within 3 minutes I look up and see the buck i shot coming my way fast with his nose to the ground. He made it past my shooting lane and continued feeding and moving quick along the ridge. He was cutting all the doe trails. He made his way out to about 80 yards and turned it was coming back on the same exact trail. at one point i thought he had me pinned but he licked his nose and through his head back down. i went to full draw right before he hit the opening. I stopped him with a whistle settled the pin and spined him. I thought he was pushing 25-30 yards so i held like i practiced and he was more like 15 so i hit a little high. So I rushed up to him and put a second arrow in him. From first shot to his last breath was under 2 minutes which made me feel better. My biggest bow buck to date and I couldn't be happier with him. It took 4 hours to get him out and to the truck and total miles walked was about 5 miles. I am very glad I made that deer cart because it was a life savor and I would probably still be dragging. I've hunted this spot 3 times 2 bucks down 6 or 7 6points or bigger spotted.

Like I said little basket 8 couldn't be happier. Almost gave up bowhunting 3 years ago nothing ever seemed to go right could never get on decent bucks but I stuck it out. Bucks on this hill dont grow massive they are all pretty small. He fell 3 yards from the one last year. 3 sits in this spot I found last summer resulted in 2 8s,and spotted 4 other 6 or better. At the truck warning up and grabbing my cart for the mile walk back to him and back out. And biz from the ground- 8220 replies

Is the peak rut the same time every year?
Swamp_bucks replied to Whereareyoubuck's topic in Bow Hunting
Same time. Warm they are just more active at night. I've read a couple articles that show they are pretty close every year and does will come into heat year after year around the same time. -
That's a nice looking gun. I think I need to get one. What brand is it?
