  1. smells like good eats sod lol.
  2. truck said 3 degrees when we were setting decoys this morning. no idea what the windchill factor was but it was nippy. just got off the ice and truck said 8 degrees, 25-30 mph wind. I know it was cold enough to flash freeze a perch in mid flop. lol they said to bring the critters inside so I brought the bucket of perch in and put them in the sink so they would warm up. lol
  3. Went out after duck hunting this morning and other than the wind it was a good bite. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk
  4. fresh perch fillets, dipped in egg batter, coated with Italian bread crumbs and cooked in the air fryer. should of cooked more lol had a handful of tater tots and 2 glasses of milk also but dang those perch were delicious. loving that new air fryer except for the coking time.
  5. no swimming moog, way too much ice to allow my dog in the water, that drake whistler landed on the shore next to me so she ran down and brought it back to me all proud of herself.lol she had to of marked it because when I opened the truck door she was off like a shot and went right to it and it wasn't visible from the truck. who was the dummy she sat in the idling truck with the heat on while we shot birds. lol.
  6. What a great hunt this morning. Had to work to open a hole but man did the birds pile in nicely. Ended up shooting an 8 man limit. The kids were shooting anything so I let them limit out with a few whistlers bills and squaws and then I shot a limit of drake whistlers and a blue Bill. Waders froze up so bad I had to come back to the house and waddle into the shower just so I could get them thawed enough to get out of them. I dropped a drake right at my feet so when we were all done I let Ziva do a retrieve since she set in my truck all morning with the heat on watching the shooting. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk
  7. I sent an email to Jennifer Mobilia and she sent me the link. I did not even know they were out there till I left and my buddy said they were there filming and talking to fisherman. http://www.whec.com/news/ice-fishing-sodus-bay-weather-perfect/4730668/?cat=565
  8. Took Judy to the dr. Appointment first thing this morning. Got back hit the soft water and shot 6 golden eyes. Dropped the canoe and gear off at the house loaded up the ice sled and hit the hard water and took an hr to grab a quick 50 ice water golds. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk
  9. Of course it wasn't on again so I videod off the tv. And of course that file is too large to post. Don't see it on the website yet either. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk
  10. whec news10 was filming today as I was pulling the icefishing hut out onto the ice and Ziva was in her normal location on the sled lol she loves to go ice fishing but it makes it harder on me to pull the sled plus 100 lbs of yellow lab too.
  11. It was ultimately an illegal kill even if mistakenly done the bottom line is he did not 100% id his target. Ar is NOT a hard law to abide by legally, you properly id the animal and if its legal and you want to harvest said animal you shoot it. If you can't properly id it as legal you don't shoot it, pretty simple and having to pass a deer seems to be the issue. I could care less if they do ar here in ny I have been hunting in the ar world since its inception in pa. It has not and will not change how I hunt or what I choose to shoot. 12. Happy belated birthday Doc. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk
  13. good luck Bill. great advice given so far. your doc, pt folks and your body will tell you what you can do, the sternum takes a long time to heal fully.
  14. Uggggg man what a tough hunt this morning. Massive pieces of shelf ice made it extremely tough to get to open water and being that the lake level is high we couldn't walk the square back out. We finally made it out set 3 whistler and 3 redhead decoys and commenced to shoot horrible! Way too man my clothes on to shoulder gun correctly but finally got it figured out about the time the barrel was covered with so much ice I couldn't see the bead. Lol. We did finally scratched out a limit, the trip back in was just as bad. Once back on land we instantly froze up and had to penguin walk back to the truck.....that was no where near as bad as trying to get out of our gear. Its fun when your waders will stand on their own from ice. Lol. Supposed to be great conditions tomorrow morning but I gotta take Judy to a dr appointment first thing so maybe a late hunt or wait till Fri and sat when it should be goid with the cold temps. 15. as doc Holliday said, say when.
  16. Tc if you wanna jump in on a hunt let me know. Things change here by the hr but we can usually scratch out a hunt. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk
  17. Well we didn't get the cold temps or the wind we needed so I improvised and still shot a limit of birds and Ziva got to do some work and we have some good training birds for this summer. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk
  18. sweet deal Jay, you will have a fun time bow hunting.
  19. what am ugly day, ice didn't open till late morning and by then there were to many sight seers and bird watchers. but we scratched out a good shoot on whistlers and bluebills. I gotta say some of those people are walking examples of proof that its a good thing breathing is an unconscious function. Had a guy telling his wife hey a boat washed up on shore here maybe I should drag it up here and call it in, he may have poo'ed a little when I said don't touch my boat ( we were tucked in the icebergs, then he tops it off with oh wow those are not real ducks...... wow! I finally had to leave cause I couldn't take it anymore with the people. tomorrow morning should be interesting, the wind is cranking now and is supposed to be all night and tomorrow with -20 wind chills. my buddy was just checking one of my spots and he text back snowing and blowing too hard to see if its open. I text back for him to walk down stick his toes off the dock if they get wet its open, if they are cold and dry its froze over.....he didn't see the humor lol time to go drag all the decoys and oars out of the shower (judy was not impressed when she saw the shower full of decoys lol) and I need to go find my spare 200' anchor rope so I can tether off the square back when I go out to retrieve birds.
  20. happy belated birthday, hope you had a great day
  21. pretty vague story to begin with, how far away was it, how long did it stand there, did he use the xbow scope or binocs,,,,,but bottom line he did not 100 % verify the deer as a legal buck that's on him. As to the fine and tag goes it was an illegal deer and that's the penalty. as far as PA and the $25.00 there are very FEW of those 25.00 fines handed out most of them are fined for sub legal buck, you loose the tag, the deer and pay a fine. Those are the ones that try to do it right or get caught with the deer, more than not the deer is left in the woods when they walk up and realize what they did.
  22. she said its a homemade sauce, like an alfredo sauce. the best was the 1/4" of fresh REAL mozzarella cheese topping. I can see if she will give up the recipe, lol
  23. no amateur night for us. besides I don't drink and spent too many NYE's cutting cars apart but more importantly its duck season and I want to be up and checking if we can hunt long before it gets daylight.
