The new Saturday start had all four kids returning to my farm for the first day of buck season. Stand locations where assigned and 1 ground blind was set up for the youngest of the group. The day dawned clear and frosty cold but deer movement was good and stand locations were where they needed to be Addison was the first youth to shoot. A nice Five Point gave her a broadside shot at 60 yards and with one of my 243 rifles he dropped in his tracks. Shortly after Addison shot I heard a Abby shoot from their blind location and was soon after sent a picture of Abby with her 10-point buck she shot with a 243 rifle with reduced recoil loads Gavin and I had seen two big eight points that he couldn't get a shot at and one other huge buck that was running so no shot taken by 10 a.m. We changed stand locations up onto my Oak flat and it was non-stop action at 2:15 3 buckchase two doe out of the sanctuary and as Gavin was getting ready to shoot the larger 8 point I looked up and saw another bigger buck coming so I told him to hold off I grunted the buck stopped at 50 yards away and I knew at the shot when the deer took off that it was hit hard and I thought I saw him pile up but we waited 15 minutes before we climb down to find a healthy blood trail and I had Gavin to track his buck. At the end of the trail he had a beautiful 10 point on the ground shot with his brand new rifle that I bought him for Christmas. Colton and his dad it changed stand locations and went to my corner stand where Addison shot her Buck at that morning and at 4:30 an 8 point came out with 8 doe and he made the 80-yard shot. The kids all did very well all one shot kills and very little tracking required. To say the excitement level in Camp Saturday night was that a fever pitch would be a huge understatement. All 3 of the youth hunters scored the first day on adult doe. Gavin is 13 and has been hunting with me in pa since age 7 Addison is 10 and has been hunting since age 6 in pa. My buddy's daughter abby is 8 and this is her 2nd year hunting my farm. My buddy's son colton is 12 and has been hunting my farm for 4 years. This years antlerless hunt. Finally a still evening g. Deer are active. Just has a doe and 2 fawns walk under me. Been here an hour and 20 minutes and just 16 flat heads so far. The grey squirrels are not as friendly here as the flying squirrel over on the other hill. The greys are throwing walnuts at me and the flying squirrel last night came to visit and even set on my left shoulder for a minute while he was trying to figure out what I was. Lol. 3 for 3 for the kids. 8 10 and 13 year old kids and all 1 shot kills. I had a decent 9 at 6 yards for 10 minutes and gave him a pass. Had to have mom drive up to the gas well to move the 37 deer out of the field so I could get down as it was almost 8pm and they wouldn't leave o. Their own. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk -

Had I of been in this stand the big 10 was as 8 yards. Making a scrape. Ended up seeing 5 buck last night and 19 doe. As of now watching 20 cows 1 bull 11 doe and 2 small buck. 2nd sit since last November. Set up in a good bottom travel corridor this morning and at 8 am wind switched so I had to boogie out of there. Mom had put a camera out in that bottom and when I checked the card last night the big 10 has come thru 3 mornings the last week between 9 and 11 am. Setting up next to my old delapitated rifle stand in 20 plus mph wind up here on top. 5 doe and a borderline shooter 8pt passed up so far. He is a nice 8 but just at the tips of his ears but real long tines. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk -

Well I guess I can take that buck off my list, not worth setting in a stand now since the 1 and only big buck has been taken already. Lol. This was not his first buck. Congrats on the great buck. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk

Yes sir a hayliner 268. I went all through it a few years back and it just eats hay and drops bales like clockwork. Doesn't matter how rough it is every bale is the same length. Finally got the rest of the field mowed. I wear gloves and welders sleeves and what a difference especially if there's poison ivy around. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk

Yup way too hilly to pull wagons. My bungee cord works well when it comes to picking them up in the field. Generally 3 or 4 times a bale. On the trailer, off the trailer into the mow, and mowed away and or a second toss up to the higher level in the barn and then mowed away. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk

I've had enough! Last load is in the barn and can wait till the am to get put away. Ended up with 504 bales, perfect since I baled with my 504 tractor. Might have to buy my first ever lottery ticket. Came back to get my truck and trailer and my yard inspectors were out front and didn't even care I was there. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk

Nope. All my tractors have good mufflers and are rarely if ever roaring wide open. I need to hear what is going on with the machine and implement when in operation. A lot of times you can get it shut down before it comes apart if you hear something happening. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk

Weeks like this in Sept. Are darn rare, I laid down another 1/5 th of my hay here in pa and there are tons of hay hitting the ground this week here. But doing it lol alone I am not 20 anymore so 3 or 400 bales is about my limit per day anymore. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk

It's a long time fallacy to pour gas in the bee nest and light it on fire all that does is burns up all the fumes from the gas and that's what you want saturating the ground to suffocate and kill the bees. Just pour a cup of gas in the hole lay a piece of wood over it or a stone and walk away the only B's that will be alive after that are the workers that didn't make it back to the nest the previous night Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
