  1. You sure can....this is from a transition area from a field through a stone wall to small secluded field with grass that I keep cut. They like the small hidden area of new grass growth.
  2. Ed if I had the $ to get more at this time,I would buy as much as my room could hold, and I mean that. The price IS going to go up and has been. All I need at this time though is 300 Win Mag ammo. The rest is OK for now. When I was reloading, that was ok but I saw no real savings if you could find ammo at a good price.Otherwise maybe a little. The prices on components are not like they used to be.
  3. Great, now I gotta slow down even more.I already slow down on wet or snow covered roads, unlike many drivers that pass me.Let them pass I say.I travel 81 from Exit 1 Kirkwood to Exit 33 Parish every time we head to camp.Binghamton is nuts and Syracuse is usually nuts, depending on the time frame. The speed limit signs mean nothing to New Yorkers through there. When heading to camp on 81 another thing I do is let the groups of cars go by or pass them and stay clear of them. Why 6 or more vehicles have to group together at high speed is beyond me,1 screw-up and tragedy happens. Excellent video to remember when driving. I notice a lot of NJ plates heading north/south as well.....no offense, but you people need to go back to driving school,or learn how to read numbers. The speed limit is 65 not 85. I see a lot of busy NYS Troopers EVERY time up and back.I love when a car blows by me at a crazy speed....the wife and I say to each other, haha, see you a couple miles up getting a ticket. And we do!
  4. Oh yeah! Had to dig the end of the road out with a machine. Then run hard for close to half a mile in deep stuff, some real deep drifts, then turn sharp right to go up to the cabin....turned sharp right and ended up out in the field! After ramming my way half a dozen times to get up the hill, actually pushing snow with the grill,I made it in to camp.Wow,crazy.The Ram TRX4 made it in.Was a great weekend, here are some pics.Glad to be home though, ran out of fire wood.Lotta work to do in the spring.
  5. Was on day 9 of it in the head and chest untill the wife made me go to the clinic.Could not sleep good, had a coughing fit every 3 hours....enough to make you wish you were dead. This all started 3 weeks ago.The Dr at the clinic RX'd me a Z-Pac and steroid nasal spray (Fluticasone Propionate) say that 3x fast. She said it most likely was a sinus infection that spread.Within 3 days I was 99% better.
  6. My bad...I checked my math and oops.I paid $298.99/1000rnds. About $5.97/20rnd box. Still good concidering they are almost imposible to find(soft point),FMJ I don't want as I cannot use them at the range.
  7. I just ordered 1000rnds of soft point for ~ $3.33/box.Best deal I could find for my AK. I can always sell half of it when none can be found.....and more than likely for double what I paid, thus getting 500rnds for virtually free.I had Mosin ammo the last time and did well reselling it. I just looked online for about an hour and 223/5.56 is difficult to find at a decent price, and the stuff that is priced OK for now seems to be all FMJ...no good for target or hunting.
  8. The armory has it...for now. http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/product944.html I will be ordering AK ammo for myself, but it is hard to find, but I found some.
  9. LMFAO uh huh. To the OP....get hoofin it.
  10. When I went to class for ACT235 here in PA (armed guard) at the local college,I had to jump through burning hoops to get it...big time. Psycho tests, physical tests and physical training by a State police officer, which means both mental, physical and classroom to be state certified with my weapon to state police certified. Any Joe off the street can get a CC permit much easier in the state of Pa.but should need to go through what I did to be a security officer just to be a CC in the home.I think more correct training is desired.Training is critical, period. Not back yard ...ok I can hit the target crap,a back ground check and here you go.
  11. Why would anyone like this? Limit it to 3 then you shotty is gonezo.
  12. I know it is not free to run the site, that's why I help out.Heck I post pictures and use band width etc. I'm not rich by any stretch of the word, but I find it.I went a little farther than $10 because I want the beenie and sticker! I like to show off my HuntingNY stuff in my neck of the woods here in Pa. ..I don't always agree with what people say on here, but I will defend your right to say it.
  13. I think it is in the best interest and more humane if you will,if they are doing it over bait.Less chance of a wound, maybe a better chance of a one shot and down. Not saying I like it,but if that is the way they are going to tackle the situation,I just think it's a better way as far as the deer are concerned.
  14. I just heard on the local news that 2 schools and 2 different grown-ups had made threats and got caught.Where the hell do these idiots come from? http://wnep.com/2012/12/20/threat-results-in-school-lockdown/ http://wnep.com/2012/12/21/shikellamy-school-district-prepared-for-emergencies/
  15. I do not use them.No kids to worry about in the house. My SHTF rifle is in the front of the safe with a 30rnd attached and another 30 and a 20 loaded on the shelf for quick access. When seconds count, I don't want to have to use a key for a trigger lock on something that is already locked in a safe.
  16. Thanks Ed YW lol My friend has a cabin next to me there,he had an Amish guy build and deliver his....it may very well be the guy you are talking about...I don't recall his name, but he did have real nice pricing and the shed he delivered to my buddy looks real good. Yep! I put a beam up across for better roof support for snow weight and it doubles for a hanging pole for deer.I went to Harbor freight and bought a chain hoist...works great. When I bolted down the treated lumber to the concrete,I ran closed cell foam between it and the concrete.....nothing leaks there.I will be putting a gutter there on the back to catch water for a rain bbl, then remove it for winter.
  17. We all run out of room at some point inside our cabins,so we build a shed to fit the rest of the junk in.The wife and I built ours at the cabin this past summer for ~$1200.I had priced the ones at Lowes and HD and around the net and found the pricing to be somewhat high, and they were built out of at best, some crappy 2x4 or 2x3, for the same size as the one we built. The concrete pad is 12'x12',the overall of the shed is 12'x~11".I left a foot or so of concrete exposed in the rear for stacking extra wood,a ladder or whatever.I need to build a work bench inside yet,and some shelving, but basically done.I am not a carpenter so don't bust my cookies too bad about it,OK? I could have had a nice Amish built shed as or a little bigger for a few hundred more and had it delivered, but found this out after the fact....I would have gone that direction, had I known there was a guy that close. But I'm happy with what I have.
  18. This is a quote from myreporter website. "The most important reason is that the large amounts of electronic equipment installed inside modern patrol vehicles — like the laptops, dash cameras, radios, siren boxes, light chargers, etc.—suck up tons of power. Each time the vehicle is cut off, an officer has to turn off all that equipment or run the risk of draining the vehicle’s battery power in minutes. And then when they get back inside, they would have to turn all that stuff back on and wait for it to reboot before driving again. This especially comes into play when vehicles park with their sirens on, because the flashing lights eat up a lot of battery."
  19. From wood that is....this is awsome! http://now.msn.com/sergei-bobkov-wood-carving-art-shown-in-photos
  20. I used to hunt grouse here in Pa when there were a lot to flush up.But at the NY cabin I won't hunt them. Not enough there to hunt.I had a pair there 3 years ago,she got eaten by a hawk.He drummed for 2 years over on the stone wall, finally picked up a suiter, had babies and now I don't see or hear them.I hope they make it ok....would be nice to see them in the spring.Being on a river, there are a lot of predators, hawks, owls, fischer, yotes, fox. It don't look good for them.
  21. Nice assault/sniper rifle Elmo! Come on now, just foolin. Looks good!
  22. "How can we get illegal handguns off the street?" We can't and never will. The key word in that question is "illegal" handguns. If the question was how to get legal HG off the street, then yes that would be possible.
  23. and toting a gun to school. There is only 1 reason and 1 reason only, that a child that age or any age,can get his/her hands on a firearm, and that reason is,is that the adult gun owner was not responsible enough to own it. http://news.msn.com/us/utah-boy-brings-gun-to-school-cites-newtown-fears
