  1. Don't believe so. Cool buck though!
  2. Cloverfields that are typically productive are coming up dry (as expected by the weather)...red oaks are the ticket it seems.
  3. Been really slow around here...still a decent amount of snow in the woods. #9 and 10
  4. Don't you hunt 8P near Urbana SF?
  5. I'd trade you a hunt in 8H any day!!!
  6. Only on Let Em Grows leases!
  7. This buck was killed 3 weeks later on the same 2700 acre tract of stateland. Idk, maybe these two locked up? We'll never know I guess...
  8. The mount that I posted yesterday was kind of an ugly dude. I just finished this one too and gotta say that I'm becoming a big fan of the full sneak pose. I typically only do one in this position every season. This past season 10 out of 30 are!
  9. I'm sure it was from fighting...he had tine marks everywhere and both brows were split and broken off. He was killed on November 3rd, I can only imagine what he'd have looked like a few weeks later!
  10. The guy who shot him was 83 yrs old...he used a bow and it was on stateland!
  11. Wasn't too much that I could do for this old Steuben County warrior to make him look any better...
  12. My Overland His have been ok so far...not handling the abuse that I've been putting on them shed hunting too well. Still made in China...
  13. Too much snow to find new ones so I decided to take an updated pic of the collection... As you can plainly see...this ain't Iowa.
  14. That's my approach...make a little extra money to spend on hunting stuff. I mount one a weekend but find myself doing something taxidermy related every evening after work. It's really cutting into my family time and my own outdoor time so I plan to scale it down next year.
  15. Just checked him out...his mounts look pretty good on the commercial level.
  16. October capes with short-medium length hair by far make the nicest looking mounts. As November progresses the capes get more and more beat up from fighting and often tick damage in the brisket area. Moral of the story...shoot your wallhanger early in season if possible!
  17. Biz's mount looks pretty good but I wouldn't be happy with most mounts people get back. After doing the taxidermy thing for the past four years now, I can confidently say that 80% of the hunters out there have no clue about what a deer mount "should" look like.
  18. I'd like to see the work he sends home at that rate...
  19. The DEC site doesn't mention antelope on the prohibited list.
  20. Just curious...does CT freely allow out-of-state deer to be brought into the state? If I take in anything from outside of NY per state law, it has to be already caped with the skull cap removed.
  21. No offense but I can't believe that one guy does 300 deer in 10 months. That's one a day every day over this span. This doesn't include form and cape prep and finish work. He also must tan all 300 hides too. Just doesn't add up?
  22. Four more today...8 for the season.
